  1. I didn’t realise the “C” in TMC stood for clothes?😆
  2. Might buy one for one of my colleagues, he models Union Pacific, same livery?

  5. I thought the reason for TTS decoders being relatively cheap is that they don't read feedback from the motor? The sound is based on what the decoder thinks the motor should be doing . I'm sure I've put a TTS sound tender from a J36 on the track without the loco being plugged in and I wondered which loco was chuffing without running.
  6. Been a few years since I left the banking world, but from memory Barclaycard Merchant Services charge around £25 for processing a successful chargeback where the retailer uses their payment processing. That's in addition to the original transaction amount being removed from the retailers bank account by Direct Debit. Definitely something any business, large or small, should avoid incurring.
  7. Hope so. I have built both in O gauge from the Jim McGeown kits. Sadly O gauge locos have been sold, love to have one of each in OO.
  8. View Advert Hornby R3871 Peckett B2 "Henry" 1264 Very nice model, has not had much running time. Part of my late father's collection. This loco was used on my dad's DCC layout. At the time he bought it I only had a 4 wired Hornby decoder, so I hard wired it in. I can supply the loco in one of these states: 1) Hornby decoder hard wired 2) Pure DC without a DCC socket Boxed with maintenance sheet. Postage charge is for UK. Advertiser Tim123 Date 22/11/22 Price £90 Category OO / 4mm scale

  10. View Advert Dapol J94 BR 68068 boxed good condition, good runner Very nice model, has not had much running time. Part of my late father's collection. My dad had a DCC layout, and this loco is not DCC ready, so I think he may have used it until around 1998 when DCC was starting to become available in the UK. Loco has been test run today, no problems with stripped gears or burnt out motor. Boxed with maintenance sheet. Postage charge is for UK. Advertiser Tim123 Date 22/11/22 Price £32 Category OO / 4mm scale
  11. View Advert Bachmann 32-278 K3 61823 BR lined black - please read re DCC Very nice model, has not had much running time. Part of my late father's collection. This loco was used on my dad's DCC layout. However there was an issue with the DCC socket board, so a Hornby decoder was hard wired in. I can supply the loco in one of these three states: 1) Hornby decoder hard wired 2) Pure DC without a DCC socket 3) With a 2rd party DCC socket Boxed with maintenance sheet. Postage charge is for UK. Advertiser Tim123 Date 22/11/22 Price £40 Category OO / 4mm scale
  12. View Advert Bachmann 32-700 class 46 D163 Leicester and Derbyshire Yeomanry - reduced! Very nice model, has been test run only. Part of my late father's collection. DCC 8 pin ready, model does not feature lights. Detailing has been added to one end, the NEM coupler is included in the packaging. Tested and running very smoothly. Dad's layout was DCC, and this loco does not have a decoder, hence its only been test run. Postage charge is for UK. Advertiser Tim123 Date 22/11/22 Price £75 Category OO / 4mm scale
  13. I have been revisiting a few projects from years ago, and found a Hornby class 25 which was fitted with a second motor bogie. The wheels were swapped out for plain ones without traction tyres. However the motors ran at different speeds. I'm contemplating fitting CD drawer motors at both ends. Would it be better to wire the motors in parallel or series? It will be powered by either a Zimo MX600 or a Gaugemaster Ruby decoder, whichever gives the best results.
  14. J39 retool please.Not being greedy, that's all I'm asking for.
  15. Have Hornby confirmed that the driving wheel balance weights on the A3 and A4 will be in the correct position for the retail models? It’s the only thing that’s preventing me from pre-ordering the A4 set.
  16. Going to order one in as preserved at Locomotion livery. Used to do cab guides on the loco until asbestos was discovered at the end with the rheostats.
  17. The catalogue pictures are Photoshopped OO gauge models. In OO the class 66 is old school Lima (and Hornby) with a larger motor bogie and a small non powered trailing bogie. Class 50 and HST re the more recent examples with both bogies powered. The Silver King A4 photo is based on the 2004 A4 model - the two pole drawbar with the pin sticking down under the tender shows it to be a version before DCC sockets and the white loco to tender plug were introduced.
  18. You could use address range 1 to 127. DCC uses base 16 not base 10 numbering system. That confused me back in the day (1997 ish) when I had a Digitrax BigBoy system. 2 digit address but a 4 digit LCD screen, programming in hexadecimal.
