  1. The 90 has one on the roof, although it is screwed on rather than magnetic, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
  2. In a lot of cases, as with the 37s, it will depend on what the livery/number combos are for a lot of people, especially with more recent ones where things are a bit more unique.
  3. I aren't baffled at all. The AS 31 was announced less than two years ago and was at EP stage. Bachmann appear (based on the fact they are announcing running numbers etc. tomorrow) to be delivering at a similar time to AS and so its logical to suggest they were already committed by the time AS made an announcement. Bachmann probably had the same reasons for doing one as Accurascale, not because of them.
  4. Thanks! Is it a single windscreen or two (for a single loco)? Just thinking the spare bodies at £10 might be a cheaper way to solve my issue!
  5. Where from? DCC supplies don't look to have them, unless I can't see them for some reason? Thanks!
  6. Mine are both from different batches. One is either 032 or 023, the other is 008 which was an earlier release. I have 4 68s, these are the only two affected.
  7. I was concerned that making the loco prototypical would hinder traction, however if the non driven wheels wheels are lightly sprung then they wouldn't be carrying much weight anyway and therefore there would be about as much traction from 4 axles as if there were 6 driven.
  8. Has anyone had an issue with their 68s cab glazing clouding over? I think it must be to do with UV light from the sun but it has happened at one end of two of my 68s. These are the only two locos affected so seems like something 68 related.
  9. Yeah that's exactly what I meant. There are things you can do with the ESU function mapping that the Zimo mapping doesn't allow for. Can't remember exactly what off the top of my head but when I had a Zimo decoder a couple of years ago I couldn't quite get it to do what I wanted. I think it involved a condition of another function being switched off or something. And yes, I used to program them manually and it was a ball ache so invested in a LokProgrammer.
  10. Exactly why I stick to them as well. Although I do think their function mapping is also beyond anyone else I have encountered. I'm sure even the Zimo system isn't quite as configurable unless they have changed it recently.
  11. I dunno. I don't buy DCC fitted unless it's an ESU decoder. I'm sure there's quite a few like me who buy one make of decoder.
  12. I don't think Bachmann spares can be entirely judged by their website. I think some bodies only get put on there when everything's warranty is likely to have run it's course (for example).
  13. Good point; I can't believe I missed that. It looks as though it cannot be accessed by the 21 pin interface, neither can PowerPack control which in my opinion points to it being a non "PowerPack" setup.
  14. That's what I believe too. However, if one buys a Lokpilot 5, puts it in a 37, configures the output for Aux9 to be Aux9 rather than PowerPack charging, does the stayalive work? If it does then I expect it wouldn't be anything special on the decoder end.
  15. Well, my Lokprogrammer used to get confused between Loksound 5 and Loksound 5 DCC with my 92 and 37s. Also it could be that ESU have added more circuitry on the board to prevent that happening. They obviously know how the programming works. I doubt there's some super secret functionality being eeeked out of the decoders as that just wouldn't make sense in my opinion. Either custom firmware, or custom decoder chip would be too problematic in the field I think. People will be buying the AS sound chip to throw into Bachmann 37s for example.
  16. Is it a stayalive, i.e. a capacitor and diode/resistor set up as per the ESU instructions (below right, pins on the 21MTC also correspond to mass and U+), or an ESU Power pack (which requires AUX9)? I don't think the former needs the controlling output from the decoder. Just because ESU designed the circuit doesn't mean they picked a PowerPack off the shelf and put it in the model.
  17. I don't think it's fair to mock those who have had issues. Yeah, 7/9 is really bad odds but it could happen, and it's evident that these motor issues do exist. I have 4 Hattons 66s, two came with broken lighting, one of the replacements also had broken lighting. It was some of the logic level lighting that didn't work. A problem that at the time seemed to be unique to me on here. I needed to handle 7 locos to get 4 that worked with a problem nobody else seemed to have. 7/9 with a problem that quite a few people have had (myself included) doesn't sound that ridiculous in that respect.
  18. I think it doubles the 15% back CC members get too, it's showing 6534 points for me if I was to buy the HSTs, making them just over £150. Tempted!
  19. Thats something I was trying to allude to in my post above. If it is something that is region/time applicable to me then I will probably end up with it. The key thing is more the stuff I will bend the rules for, either because its cool or because its a bargain. I think the issue for the manufacturers is understanding the latter aspect of it as that will probably account for the sales that make the whole thing viable.
  20. They'll get chance of the 231s for TFW too (one of the samples looked like it might already be in the works IIRC). TBH, further to my post above, I'd not pay RRP for a 755 however I'd maybe extend my "region" down to Peterborough if I got a bargain on one as I think they are a cool looking thing. That does start getting dangerous though with Electrostars and Desiro Citys! I think the 196 and 197 are good looking units which have good liveries already with a decent regional coverage to work with. Both work on/around the WCML, so plenty to partner with and then there's also quite a lot of TfW stuff too to pair with: 67/mk4 158 175 231?
  21. MUs I'd be interested in.... TPE 185 (would probably have two, or could be a good idea to do a 6 car one as two sets given thats how they spend a lot of time) XC 220/221 Northern 195 (2 or 3 car) Northern 170 LNER CAF tri mode (whatever that might be called) I think a lot of what the price "should" be is depending on how you want to operate. For example... I have a TPE 802 on pre order at about £405. That particular item is a "must have" for my layout however it is expensive for what I see as a good, but not brilliant, model. However, I will wait and see how cheap the Lumo 803 gets before I make a decision as to whether I buy that. I would put the following into ones that I would probably pay top prices for*, say ranging from £300 for 2 car to £500 for 5 car. I paid almost £300 for a Bachmann 158 and that was about my limit I think. TPE 185 (present day, maybe two of them) XC 220/221 Northern 195 (2 or 3 car) Northern 170 (current) Northern 155 (current) LNER CAF tri mode (assuming a short version was available) *Not necessarily all of them as I'd struggle for space. However, I'd wait for a bargain on anything that passes/passed through Yorkshire since 2019 really. Something else to consider is how good they need to be. I think something which is on the good side of adequate (yet overpriced in this case) is the Hornby 80X. If something to that spec was to be available at around £300 for 5 car I think it would do well. Maybe that's not achievable however there's not much detail beyond mouldings. The pricing for your ICR 22000 and the Revolution 180 (at early bird) are very pallatable IMO.
  22. BR loco at least, I don't think the 92 entirely counts as that does it? Don't forget Clayton are still making locos too! I am just intrigued as to why 60001 would be relevant/they'd want two.
  23. This intrigues me, why would the NRM want two class 60s?
