  1. I actually would love that, but it's not realistic is it, you're just being flippant as you think your way of life is at risk, now if you want a grown up conversation Why has the call centre got to be 2000 people in the centre of London, why not have 20 call centres around the country in 20 towns or cities, why has the square mile in London have to be there, again why cannot it be multiple sites around the country, we have to rethink what we are doing. I admit I use Amazon, but do I really need to have deliveries every day, could I not have all my parcels held somewhere & I get a delivery once/twice a week. I know this seems to be off topic from HS2 but it's not it's all part of the same problem, we have to ask what are we trying to achieve & is there a better/different way, I don't have the answer, but shoving a new train line up the centre of England, which misses nearly every city is not it.
  2. This is not offtopic at all, it is bang on topic, this is why HS2 is not required, new ideas need to be used, not harping backwards to the way we used to do things, they have to change or the world & humans will become extinct. We need to come up with new ways of working not continue to make people commute into large clusters using huge amount of resource, sorry if this sounds alien to you or even all hippy dippy but it's real!
  3. We have never needed HS2, what we need a new Freight line running straight up the backbone of the UK with terminus's at each port & large freight yards just outside strategic cities, with a ban on movement of anything via HGV over a certain distance. Taking the people to the jobs to the work is madness, the work needs to go to the people, get away from this London Centrist mentality, despite what they believe it is not the centre of the universe.
  4. This is assuming that we are getting the truth out of China, I'm not sure we did in the first place, hopefully we are now,
  5. Did you honestly type that with a straight face?
  6. Many a true word spoken in jest
  7. It's a Capacity Discharge Unit for the point motors, when I eventually decide to get around to fitting them, but go to decide if the layout is right first, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RKcdu1-2x-4700uF-Dual-Capacitor-Discharge-Unit-CDU-Hornby-Seep-PECO-Points-Motor/182307855737?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
  8. I wouldn't have thought it would be that hard, all the teams must have huge capacity on their network to stream live data back from both cars out on track. I suspect the hard part would be to get them all to agree on a standard protocol of racing chairs
  9. I'm going through a bit of a strange one currently, I sent an N Gauge loco First Class Signed for, after 14 days I got an message from the buyer saying there might be a problem, but it was the wording that set my senses going, not quite sure what it is but it doesn't seem right. I'd given the tracking number & looking online it shows that it never left the PO I dropped it in at, no further tracking. He's now raised a dispute whilst I was on holiday, I advised him I couldn't put a claim into RM until I got home. I've since raised the claim & offered him a refund, but not heard anything since, I have a sneaking suspicion that it's been delivered without signature, no evidence to this effect just the wording. My fault for not fully insuring it, but I will lose £15 on the sale price, plus my ebay, Paypal fees, and my RM fees.
  10. Which logically means they have now automatically withdrawn from Bahrain & potentially Vietnam (if it goes ahead)
  11. I started to put together an N gauge on a 4x2 but after getting it setup I couldn't get on with n gauge so sold it all again at a good loss. I then decided I would go down the OO route on an Inglenook on a 4x1 board. I have laid out the below track, it is intended to have an engine shed where the 2 loco's are placed. May main concern is how far from the front edge should I lay the first row of track, I do want to do some scenery so wonder where it's best to lay the track?
  12. Unfortunately it won't help you as Paypoo want an independent electronic method, if it's collection it's cash only, that is your only protection, I always refund Paypoo if they send it through for collection.
  13. Does not the fact you have highlighted it as virtue signalling make your response virtue signalling?
  14. I can't see him going there, he's already said he's waiting for Toto to decide what he is doing before making a decision, I think Toto will be in Formula E in 2021 unless they can come up with fossil fuel replacement. Car manufacturers are only interested in F1 if they can port it out to their road cars, so continuing petrol engine racing is a waste of resource.
  15. Is that in this particular season so far, or for the whole of their life? Surprised there has not been any comments about the use of the new Red Rule book, not surprised with who is now running the FIA & his previous history with the red team.
  16. There isn't a Government on earth who has the Kahoona's to do what needs to be done & that is close their air space for 2 weeks & stop all flights, which should have been done weeks ago, but we're digressing, not sure how F1 & a lot of other International tournaments are going to cope.
  17. They already have so has the horse already bolted?
  18. Confused by your comments David, your first link shows 10 pieces for £10.95, I only need 4 & £2 more than the made unit, the 2nd one are £1.95 each & I would need 8 so £15.60, am I missing something? Alan.
  19. This is the one I was looking at only because they also do a bank of 4 switches as cheap as I can buy 4 switches & can save postage https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RKcdu1-2x-4700uF-Dual-Capacitor-Discharge-Unit-CDU-Hornby-Seep-PECO-Points-Motor/182307855737?hash=item2a72651d79:g:3rcAAOSwNIFd52Ms https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RKtoggle7-Switch-Module-for-use-with-Solenoid-Points-Capacitor-Discharge-Units/183735482293?var=691324452987
  20. Can I follow up in the CDU, I have 4x Peco points, just bought 4x Gaugemaster Seep motors for them, it's in a shunting situation so likely to be quite a bit of use. What size of CDU will be required?
  21. Going back to the original question I would look at it in pure commercial terms, what is the mileage benefit of having the treatment, if you are going to get 2 more miles to the litre, how many litres will it take to ge your £99 back.
  22. Well none that a well stuffed envelope won't make go away.
  23. Ofcom have finally started to do something although they are fairly toothless & sit in their ivory tower, I work in the industry & have been trying to get them to do something for many years, even when they knew who was responsible they failed to act. But eventually as the story goes one of these scammers got through to an elderly relative of somebody 'senior' in higher Government circles, they took them for a considerable amount of money. After this Ofcom have started to get their derryaire in gear. They have changed the rule known as General Condition 6 so that only return dialable numbers are now allowed on the network, the issue is that there is no way to know what is a valid or not valid number. BT have said they will have a system in place by September this year which will start to reject calls that enter the network in the wrong format as above, but as said they make a lot of money at it & are not pushing.
  24. Agreed, does he, have you asked him? See above
