For somebody with Parkinson's this is still likely or impossible to achieve, @Realistic_build_Speed likely to be not easy, but could you take a photograph of the system as it is at the moment, it may give the collective a better idea to come up with a solution. My B-I-L has quite severe Parkinson's so I do understand the issue maybe a little more, but I think the hinge method has to be the way forward. Then with a rope to pull to lift the section up, this needs to be accessible from both inside & outside of the shed, ideally a motorised lift so all he has to do is press a switch to get it to lift & comeback down.

Guys, Any chance of a bit of help with RailModeller Express, I'm trying to redraw http://www.cke1st.com/m_train2.htm Plan Name: 2x40001 to convert it from Atlas Code 80 track to Peco Set track N gauge. but when I start with the outer loop it doesn't connect back up unless as I suspect I'm doing something wrong. I have 4x St-15 on each curve, I have 2x ST-1, 2x ST-11 & ether an ST-5 or a ST-6 on each side so logically it is symmetrical Sorry about the first image not sure why it's so big with so little zoom Thanks Alan..
