7 quid probably means per wagon as well, though probably a bargain since they charged me 15 quid for a Hornby TTA in an incorrect, damaged box
-
We get amazing quotes such as: 'This is where a lot of oil would be running down.' (So you've chosen to represent that with powder blotched on?) 'This is by no means a professional job.' (So how come you are selling the same service as 'bespoke' for 7 quid?)

There is also a video of them weathering the tankers on their YouTube if want a look

Class 69 - Return of the body snatchers?
tubs01 replied to Argos's topic in UK Prototype Discussions (not questions!)
Did a quick and dirty edit of what 003 might look like, I apologize for the innacuracies with the fonts -
Just glad it's finally gone, one less thing taking up the sidings at shackerstone, the battlefield line looks more like a scrapyard than a railway
-
She's finally being cut up! Finally.

There can be a bit of joy in collecting but for me that is completely separate from models. I can't be bothered fussing about whether or not to paint some buffer grease on a loco incase I decrease it's value if I happen to sell it in 10 years time
-
Does this change anything? I mean is the project possibly any further forward or is it just still the same as it has been for however many years
-
The Eddie stobart stuff seems to always go for ridiculous prices, try finding the Eddie stobart 37 for less that 150 quid, it's funny because I just got about half the rolling stock from the set for a tenner today!

Is there a source?

If only I still had mine from when I was 7! Not sure why half the Thomas stuff goes for so much when it was mass produced for so many years
-
No need to worry, you too can have you very own 25 year old trainset with worn track and underscale coaches for the bargain price of 300 quid. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-intercity-125-train-set-/274996610253?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0 (

Here are some photos of the platform, or what is left in 2017. If I need to take them down please do say, photos from Ashby museum. I've also included a picture of the station while it was open, and just after it closed so you can see what it used to look like.
-
Any idea where the station would have been in Ashby? I don't know if it's different with privatisation, but with the old station building being used as offices, with the platform and canopy gone, I'd have assumed a new station would be built instead (I say station, but more likely a platform, bus shelter and ticket machine affair) but of course I can't really think of where it could be built. Thanks for bringing up the BR project anyways, I already knew about it but not that much
-
Yes that's one thing that has been on my mind, especially what stations the line would serve. If train starts at Leicester, terminates at Burton and then returns, would it really need to serve any stations other than Ashby and coalville? Moira is so close to Ashby that I see little reason for adding a station there when Ashby is a short drive or walk away, but I'm probably not the one to ask. It's fun to discuss what might be, but even if the project did go ahead (emphasis on if) it would be years before it opened. Still lots of questions to be answered, such as rolling stock. The CRIL (campaign to reopen the ivanhoe line) has often talked about hydrogen powered trains but I honestly doubt anything other than a DMU or 67+Mk3+DvT would be used. (I would prefer the latter option, despite the former being much more likely! )

Just a thought in my mind, who would operate services if the line was reopened? XC, EMR or a new operator?
