Excellent news, how many?

I can resist steam, maybe not when my Manor finally arrives, but non steam could be an issue for my bank balance. On present form I expect from AS an 08, 20, 47, 73, HST plus a surprise. (not a class 40) If a suitable unit is announced, in particular Electrostar or Aventra, I'm stuffed as I'd need at least an 8 car unit. Hmm I expect steam today though but with the 37 out maybe a 47 or HST? So 6 steam, 9 non steam and we will be due a rake of coaches once the 2Bs arrive!

This picture on the countdown is of a Manor + siphon G. That gives a clue of a steam loco or GWR based product(s) You tube starts at 10:45, countdown is for 11am

The only reason today to buy DC is because your railway is too difficult to switch to DCC. I had 60+ DC locos on my DC layout and I progressively switched the fleet & tracks to DCC. ALL my old steam had to go and some older diesels. Later even my older conversions & some DCC ready locos went as they didn't perform on DCC well enough. Took me years. Just 4 ex DC locos remain. Would I recommend anyone go DC? Nope! DCC is a must for any new layout. In general I don't bother with sound as the hassle & cost isn't worth it, plus I've found sound quality to be poor value. AS on the other hand make a DCC sound loco for the price of certain other manufacturers DC ready locos, so DCC sound from AS is a no brainer!

I think an announcement calendar is required on your website with a countdown to the next announcement, colour coded for locos (steam / diesel), coaches & wagons and new, re-run, new liveries and the odd spoof! Get your competitors nervous & customers on edge / saving up!

I wondered because the announcement only mentions the 3 green ones and not 37001. -

What has happened to 37001? Was supposed to be in batch 1, are there any updates on this one? Maybe I picked the longest wait one to order 🤔 -
The next Accurascale steam loco in OO ???
reddragon replied to Covkid's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
There's 2 areas here. The not done before new thing nobody has made but maybe not so interesting and the made many times but very popular loco that can be done better. In general, I'd go for the latter. -
I had an idea. What about a track measurement coach that actually records data and images? Maybe have tiny cameras or measurement devices? Data uploading via Bluetooth or a data socket. Some DCC systems already have live camera options. This would be a first?

Sold my Hornby 71000 due to poor performance on DCC and bits falling off.

What is general cargo? General cargo are items that do not fall into the Special Cargo categories and that do not require any extra precautions or special handling during air transport. These types of items are retail and most consumer goods (with the exception of mobile phones, tablets and laptops) , dry goods, hardware, textiles, and more. Think of your average, everyday objects; most of those would fall into the general cargo area. https://www.iata.org/en/publications/newsletters/iata-knowledge-hub/what-types-of-cargo-are-transported-by-air/#:~:text=General cargo are items that,hardware%2C textiles%2C and more.

Announcing a full broad gauge range . . . .

Mk1 buffet car range would be an easy start and would fit in current formations well. I have to take to coach renumbering for anything existing to work as most are E or M regions, so anyone modelling W, S or Sc have limited options.

Most Accurascale models ordered!
reddragon replied to reddragon's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
1. Diesel Shunter - 1/1 - definite - Agree - the current offerings cannot shunt full rakes & have many liveries missing, lack of class 10, non classed versions (Crossley etc) 2. Class 47 - 1/100 - very unlikely - I think this is 1/1 definite. Lima, Heljan & Bachmann offerings hold high prices on eBay yet variety is less than optimal, so many gaps 3. Class 56 - 5/6 - just playing with the numbers - Nope Cavalex 4. Class 58 - 8/5 - playing again in reverse order - Nope, low prices even new for really good models 5. Class 60 - 2/1 - this would be cheeky - Nope Cavalex 6. Units - 1/1 - must be a dead cert.. but there's 100+ to pick from. - Agree - must ne Electrostar -
Most Accurascale models ordered!
reddragon replied to reddragon's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
I'm at : - Locos / MUs 5% or 7th place - pre orders move that up to 4th Coaches - 1% or 4th place plenty of pre orders Wagons - now 29% and 2nd place - no pre orders Anyone reached 100% yet? -
I have a DJH class 71, didn't cost much, I didn't touch the Hornby one as DCC fitting is near impossible. I can get a new Hornby 71 for little more than the cost of a new AS coach! Why would anyone venture into dead territory again?

I have my finger over the order button for a pair of Electrostar units, but it says not in stock
