  1. Have you thought of fibre optics and bulb in the body to enable those lights to be reduced down to scale size? They are so big to look silly! Fibre optics can transmit the remote light to the detail without the need for a bulb, which I guess is the size issue. https://www.starscape.co.uk/customer-project-64-model-train-lights-using-fibre-optics-and-leds/ It has been done! https://www.layouts4u.net/
  2. It's been a very long time since any kind of update on production, with delivery still shown as Q2. Any updates?
  3. you must have a faulty keyboard, your messages make an annoying whistling sound when on my screen.
  4. Suddenly loads of class 73s on sale / on eBay - does someone know something?
  5. OK initial comments: - 1 - when opening watch out for the black rubber bits on the plastic inner as they catch on the underfame details & you need to take care wiggling the G out without snagging, a bit tricky! 2 - My loose part - oddly stuck on the LH ends of the G, left of the corridor connection at the bottom. No idea why they're stuck over a seemingly identical finish underneath! 3 - Its heavier than my other coaches so had to go at the front of the rake 4 - The underframe details stick out a bit - check gauge clearances at platforms etc
  6. The main issue with all current RTR coaches is that you cannot easily build a rake for a region, you often have to mix n match or wait. Over time I built a Mk1 rakes in blue/grey (renumbered buffet required), and maroon but still haven't completed a blood & custard rake. Mk2/2a is just 3/10th done, 2c resolved by AS except a buffet car, Mk2def 4/10th. Complete rakes, especially simple SO/SKs are a must.
  7. That's announced next month, May the 40th be with you along with a GWR Star Wars class 😁
  8. So speculation time again!! 11am on Thursday? https://www.accurascale.com/blogs/news
  9. Now about this, a GWR DMU that formed the basis of most BR 1st Gen DMUs
  10. It's been a long time since an update on this one, 4 weeks! Must almost be here :) Are they nearly here yet . . . .?
  11. I counted 3 minutes 87 seconds. Yes I ordered 12 car rakes in each livery!
  12. You are NOT getting me into modelling NG even of it's a WHR Garratt!
  13. The count down clock has vanished but AS announced they'd be at Staffold Barn model exhibition this weekend. Something NG?
  14. What about some new realistic model PTA wagons? The ones done by AS, Hornby, Lima etc are pristine and even when weathered are pristine but dirty. Real ones I see are battered, bend, twisted & dented. I'm sure AS could model in all those dents, bent sides and general battering with a generic range of damage types, weathered with empty & full loads. Real trains!
  15. @Accurascale Fran seen here measuring 99010 INVICTA from a small launch is due to be announced on Saturday
  16. Steam, just done, Diesel locos OK going well, coaches, lots to come already, wagons, maybe more. I reckon we are in for a MU to match their IR models. I wonder what? At least it's not being announced on Saturday, or perhaps there will be a joke announcement that day! "AS announce the building of a full 1:1 size DCC sound fitted LMS 10000 running on batteries."
  17. And she said, "I live with a super model called Rodney"!
