  2. Revell paints seam ok. Being trying them at the moment only because there's a local shop. May try tamiya also
  3. I remember an animated series of shorts from the 70s/80s possibly from Europe about aliens on a planet and how they messed it up ie pollution etc. It was meant to be about us. Can't find it anywhere. Anyone help? On a separate note it seems a shame they only repeat the same shows dad's army, only fools and horses etc when there's loads they could show Hancocks half hour, hitchhiker's guide, etc
  4. Being enjoying this thread as I like watching weird/old stuff. Remember watching hinge and bracket as a child laughing loads then my dad said you do know it's men dressed up!! Talking pictures tv channel is good and only run by one chap and his daughter. Nice old films with good shots of old street Seens and old railway. A lot of the itv stuff stayed regional unless it became a big hit used to like only when I laugh "I'm h a pp y"
  5. Having returned to model railways after many years away. I to got some new humberol paint and found it lacking to say the least. For brush painting i made a little stirrer like a drill press and keep it running while i paint. It seems to work better ish. Humberol used to be made in Hull many years ago like most things the factory gone and now gods knows where its made possibly china and like others have said to safer standards
  6. There not quite up to date Internet wise. I don't think they even post on rmweb or I'd have thanked them in their own topic. But there system seems to be as fast as anyone's else
  7. Ordered between 2pm-3pm weds came Thursday! Only 3 packs of mirco strip and said i was in no hurry. But still good service thanks
  8. Was going mention that If no luck what about having it so you take the flexible pipe off and put a stop end on then any bugs would only be in the wall fitting?

  13. Thanks guys Got rogers book 30 years ago. Still dont understand it lol Been looking at the pwm type like your idea nigel Also been looking at the helmsman handheld unit. I take it i could use any transformer and connect the helmsman to that? (making show i check first) Been looking at the morley but will check ontrack also. Like the idea of multiple socket points
  14. I always liked the feel and set up of the h&m walkabout just seened right to me I was going to maybe get a gaugemaster handheld unit and convert that
  15. my thinking was it would be easier as at least the controller worked before I started !!! I think I'd struggle to build my own and a lot seen to be rotary so still have that problem to solve thanks for reply
  16. Would it be easy to convert a rotory controller to a slide type. Like the old h and m walkabout Would it just be remove round switch and solder new slide in and put the lot in a new box
  17. Yep me to "I'll keep that" put it in the cupboard years later have a tidy move it to the loft then another year move it to the shed. Then have a clear out when i can't move in the shed. Then years later spend ages looking for said items
  18. I to am no expert at all but was told less is more. The times I've been happy with the result is when I've said "leave it". I think the thing with airbrushing is we try to do it in one hit What about buying some Dapol unpainted wagon bodies and play with them I also put mine in the airing cupboard in a upside-down tub to dry
  19. polybear there's been quite a few of those programs on national tv and a lot more on regional so it happens a lot the "recycling industry" is the wild west full of dodgers (some of the stories I could tell)!! dogbox321 wouldn't say i'm very good at recycling but i do try a bit as for plastic bags been needed for display what about kadee couplers paper bags seems to work ok ish as for reusing the bags .I got a load of little jam jars (from wilkos) for my bits Tim didn't know those little clear bags where recyclable ! . mind you they are made different plastics so could end up getting it wrong!! don't want the recycling police coming after us !! as for general shopping i have a ruck sack/cotton bag/old army bag etc and for the big food shop i use one of those old lady shopping trollies !!
