  1. 499 still plying it trade on Canton all these years later, I heard a rumour when EWS moved out of Canton they basically left 499, and a few demic 37s. Pullmans asked EWS for their removal but failed to do so, in the end Pullmans scraped the 37s and kept 499 as a pilot.
  2. I’ve just found your thread, fantastic stuff I’ve always wanted to try a brass kit but it’s buying all the correct tools that out me off to be honest.
  3. Maybe a little more patient across the board, and some of if you don’t like something scroll on past is in order ? I do hate the “there’s XYZ going on” to counter a view or opinion we may not agree with. I’m almost tempted to say the kernos guys should be lucky to be bsuy, and have a job unlike millions - but that is both disrespectful, rude and uncalled for. As a critical worker we all dealing with things in different ways, but we must all stick together and not back bite.
  4. The arrival of the model could of been one of very few things helping the gentlemen retain a level mental playing field, we all know how mental health is helped by our hobby. Stupid that explanation might seem, but it’s all relative to the individual. There will always be someone with a bigger problem than you of course, but we/you shouldn’t belittle one man stress or stains because yours seem to be bigger, or because of some wider situation like C19.
  5. Once again lighting fast, and excellent service from Kent Model Railways highly recommended.
  6. Bravo chaps, bravo! The collection at Didcot could keep you going for decades to come !
  7. He played the fiddle extremely well, such a shame so many where taken in when he was No1 in the charts. Those of us who saw beyond the Chorus where labelled, and ignored, it’s often the minority who should be listened to but hey ho..
  8. I vaguely recall a chap didn’t be play music on the side ?
  9. Turbot wagon with incorrect lettering....likewise your actual models which pay the web designer !
  10. The obvious choice would be accurascale, but they don’t seem interested unfortunately more concerned with OO than O. I’m sure I’m not allow when I say a upscale of their latest and forthcoming OO wagons like the JSA family would soon be like rocking horse poo if they produced them in O. Dapol at times seem to like kicking the ball as high over the open goal as they can, I say this in respect to reruns of the BR standard brake vans for example, they really are like gold dust now. Also the Grey later body Class 08, why on earth weld the Stratford sparrow on it ? Even the unnumbered version has it ! How many locos could you potentially do with a plain TTG 08 as a base, your stuck with a partial respray as a minimum with the model offered. Modern O is probably one of the biggest markets at the moment among the 30/40/50 age group, those with money and space for a small O layout, but no one seems to want to offer any wagons in the period. Your spoil for choice with locos, but you have to resort to kits if you want anything to haul behind it.
  11. Next year will signal the 10th anniversary of the long waited HEA in O gauge. Should the model hit the milestone (I really hope not) is this a record?
  12. If I remember from my days with London Midland / Silverlink the Cov to NS stoppers weren’t much better even then.
  13. I’m one of a handful here is very pro freight, if I can keep you moving I’ll do my very best to. I’m of the firm belief what you haul behind you is actually making money, not like the fresh air expresses we normally see (even pre C19). Anyway, that was 2020 all history now.
  14. Makes no odds to me, I’ll be sat in a comfortable chair in my IECC. It’ll be your colleagues having their teeth rattled out of their skulls or going deaf on a 66 who’ll be sat in a loop waiting for OHL Team to remove the obstruction. Im just surprised someone thought it was a good idea, mini Xmas tree on the inside 2nd man side window fair play, but that????
  15. I’ll remember that when you or your colleagues are sat on a red for hours when there’s an object on the OLE...
  16. Im sure Network Rail would be really impressed if some of that wrapped itself round the OLE....
  17. Definitely a shop I’ll use again, ordered a few Dapol items circa 1130 30/12/20 they arrived less than 24hrs later at 1100 31/12/20!!!! fedex delivery at no extra cost as well, top notch stuff.
  18. The Class 08, Terrier, vans and HEA / HAA where the second push by Dapol into O after the initial wagon releases around 2012.
  19. You'll usually find the FOC want their own staff to attend, even if that results in a long delay. Network Rail MOMs aren’t competent to couple trains, although they’ll assist the FOC staff as required. Also FOC staff especially shunters are only booked at certain sites for certain trains/hours, only big centres like Crewe Basford Hall, Bescort, Doncaster will have staff onsite 24/7, and then they’ll have booked work to undertake.
  20. No, hence why I’ve self deleted my pointless reply.
  21. There was definitely a discussion about it on here, either way it’s there or was for anyone to search for it they wish.
  22. There was a thread on here about the consultation from Hattons to other shops about a joint shut down right at the start of the C19 outbreak, that’s how I know about it - whether it’s still here is another matter. I think (correct me if I’m wrong) I don’t fully recall now, but wasn’t there a total shutdown of non essential retail at the very start of C19? Before online open was set up?
  23. Hence why I said In terms of model railways regards their size, by a country mile their the biggest company in the UK with a decent export base as well (I’d assume). Just for disclosure purposes, I have ordered from Hattons before and have a few orders outstanding - I also recognise the irony.
