  1. I’ve decided to place an order the BR Blue / Grey unit, however Hattons say their sold out on pre order with the sound model, so Rails have it hopefully !
  2. I very much double much, if anything electric uses it anymore. 92s are like hens teeth in Bescot Yard, 86s all stored, 90s again rare as on time West Midlands Train. Id expect a BTEC is in place in most of bescot yard now as well. There is afully motored brand new double slip installed at Bristol Stoke Gifford a few years ago.
  3. From the contact I had with them the chap I “spoke” to did give across a tone of I should be grateful they’ve choose to allow me to shop with them, not that they should be grateful I wanted to shop with them. This is a reason why I’m nervous about using small retailers, they don’t seem to have polices or a set in stone process for dealing with issues. It seems like if you catch them in a good mood you’ll be sorted out, if not then tough.
  4. I had the same, ordered two Parkside kits that appeared to be in stock no “out of stock” etc, paid via the website but then found out they didn’t actually have them in stock. A bit of drama getting a refund, and somewhat rude as well so I won’t be using them again either.
  5. I had the same problem, have you tried Facebook messenger? They replied within an hour to my message vice at least a dozen phone calls and three voicemails left with zero response.
  6. Dapol Class 66 + 6 or 7 Accurascale JSA achieve a prototypical South Wales steel train, just need Accurascale to produce the wagons on O gauge now. Dapol Class 08 with 2 JSA steel wagons produces a prototypical trip working in South Wales, the list goes on....anyone getting a link here?
  7. Come on Dapol O gauge manor to go with the choc and cream vehicles, Cambrian coast express
  8. Weren’t the HSA the welded door scrap pool wagons? I really hope Dapol develop the chassis like the real vehicle with different bodies like the MEA etc. Although a nice little speedlink trip working or even a trunk job is in the offing with the vans as well. Credit where it is due, well done Dapol.
  9. They don’t last long that’s for sure, Simms at Newport at taking a train a week generally. With only a run round loop at the site they must drag them off the rails for disposal or cut them as soon as they arrive. Most of the scrap is exported i believe.
  10. Nope, that was a ROC 57 + East Coast rake, this move is a ROC 57 + Anglia Class 321s.
  11. Really looking forward to these, ideal speed link freight service in the offing.
  12. Class 57 hauling East Coast stock including driving van trailer to the cutters torch at Newport, South Wales.
  13. Well I’m blown away by this announcement, I honestly am....
  14. My third order from Tim Horn, totalling 12 boards this time - quality superb, workmanship is of the usual extremely high standard and service was exceptional. Highly recommended indeed.
  15. Freightliner 66502 + Intermodal at Barry Dock 03/03/21
  16. 50049 delivering redundant East Midlands Trains MK3 stock for scrap at Newport (South Wales) Docks 01/03/21.
  17. Although post 1996 units would be a good show to start, Class 170 in its original form 170101-117, 201-208, 301-308, 401-429, 501-523 & 630-639 all shared the same bodies, other batches had slightly different headlight clusters.
  18. I’ve always thought Bachman should drop into the O market, they already do buildings although limited in number. As dpaol have found out if you feed a market it grows.
  19. I don’t know, modern wagons are like hens teeth. A range of wagons using a common chassis...HEA to start as the base, with evolutions into MEA, MFA, MHA etc ?
  20. When is a previous announcement so long ago without the actual announced product arriving, that it can be classed as a new announcement of the previously announced product? I think 8+ years could just sneak into the new announcement Category.
  21. Dare I hope for the mythical HEA coal wagon......
  22. I ordered with EP for the first some about a month ago, nice easy website to order with until...... Items selected (3) clicked shopping cart to pay, I didn’t want to create an account so opted to go with the guest checkout option. Only PayPal was available as an option to pay, I don’t really like PayPal but as it was the only option I had no choice. Entered my address and details etc, clicked pay within seconds job done....or was it ? I’m set up for one click payment on PayPal so instant orders aren’t unusual. No confirmation email came through to my inbox, or junk after several hours. I didn’t think to much about it to be honest as I’d never used them before I just thought maybe they didn’t issue them. As the even pushed on the lack of confirmation email was playing on my mind, so I logged back onto EP website so see the three items still sat in my shopping cart. I think it’s reasonable to assume taking into account the lack of email, and instant payment process i hadn’t actually paid for the order first time round. As the items I’d ordered where out of stock literally everywhere else I’d looked it was quite a stroke of luck to find them on EP, so I paid again via the quest checkout option as before. This time the process went via PayPal, which confirmed my thoughts I’d not actually paid last time hence no email confirming. Order placed, and email confirmation received. The next morning I check my online banking app to see X2 payments from EP to the amount I’m expecting. I logged back onto EP to see I’ve actually two orders for the same items, hence the two payments taken. Reading through the terms to check where I stand as I’ve obviously made an error somewhere I see there is a significant restock fee, starting to panic now (okay I know, but I didn’t want to have to pay a fee for EP to cancel an order their website took in error). I phoned them shortly after 1000, no answer. My thoughts where get in contact ASAP so the order wasn’t processed thus hopefully avoiding the restock fee. I phoned throughout the morning and afternoon with still no answer. I eventually made contact via social media, and explained the situation. The person I “spoke” to said the items weren’t in stock anyway, no notification on the website saying out of stock though. I explained the situation, which was met with a response I’ll cancel the orders but consider it a favour tone. One payment was refunded, but the second I had to wait 10 days for as PayPal held it in suspension for some reason at EPs end. Overall not impressed, website doesn’t show items in stock or not, terms state no monies taken until item is in stock ready to go but due to being forced to use PayPal that isn’t an option, ability to contact and speak to them is on the day I called was impossible. Generally attitude towards customers with significant “restock” fees I mean how much hassle is it to place three boxes back on a shelf ? Website which isn’t clear on how to order, and having to pay via PayPal. Both payments where refunded, but I won’t be going there again. I’m sure there’ll be 1000s of happy customers, but it’s how they deal with the handful that really matters.
  23. They produce the number they know with certainty they can sell, if that means you have to per order or miss out then it’s tough luck you have to pre order. I don’t agree with the principle, but then again when was the last time manufactures listen to consumers ? They have a track record of high sales (defined by selling out) models, but then making consumers wait years for a rerun, the minerals which have since been announced and the 20t brake vans no announcement yet on a rerun. I think the 66s will be a limited run of each model as well, remember Dapol are essentially a family run operation with staff taking up multiple roles across the company they can’t afford to have stock sitting round unsold - it’s bad enough models coming back to retailers with QC issues they have to then dispose of at cost or close to.
