  1. Have you contacted the Bachmann services department? I got a spare detailing pack for my 4MT from them the other week, great service with a quick reply.
  2. I've got a DCS52 zephyr express and it's a great unit! The power adapter is capable of supplying plenty of current for a medium sized layout. The newly redesigned button panel and screen is great, and I find it very easy and simple to use - much better than the interface of the older DCS51 version. The ability to wire in two DC throttles as "Jump" throttles is great and has proven quite useful to me!
  3. The CAD looks great! Excited for this one!
  4. I've just had a thought. Seeing as Accurascale are doing a version of the mk2 coaches, perhaps they could tool up the Manchester Pullman set too! Now that would be excellent! Surely a good choice with Bachmann's 85 and Heljan's 86!
  5. I think the AM10 could be a very smart Idea for Accurascale. If they do a 310 and a 312, they could cover a whole lot of territory without having to create to many tooling variations.
  6. I do think that the AM4/5/8 seems more like Bachmann's territory though with their extensive range of earlier DMU's and EMU's, plus they've already got the tooling for the bogies!
  7. I certainly agree that people would like to see a nice fancy new Black 5, myself included. Hornby's retools of their older models seem to have certainly sold well too! Personally I'd love to see some more WCML traction come to market. The AM10/Class 310 seems right up Accurascale's lane, especially seeing as the AM10 is based on the MK2 design (Albeit the original design, not the mk2b). They'd have my wallet in tears if they did an original blue small yellow panel model! They couldn't go wrong though doing a well detailed black 5 or 8f, despite it being another duplication I think Hornby's tooling's for those particular models are dated enough that people would be after better looking and performing models, particularly with DCC features - surely the days of the 8-pin socket should be long gone by this point!
  8. Two further questions. Any recommendations as to whether enamel or acrylic would suit the job better? I'd imagine enamel would probably be more ideal? Also, unfortunately in New Zealand we have a very limited choice of paints, no railmatch or phoenix precision paints. Does anybody know a good colour match to the 60's yellow panel colour from the humbrol, tamiya or vallejo range?
  9. That was meant in no negative regard to Heljan, just looking forward to seeing what my pre-order looks like in the flesh. NZ might not be as backwater as you think it is.
  10. Thanks for the advice. Will be doing a 24 and a 31, funnily enough the 24 did have the rounded top corners, so that's going to be fun to attempt. The 31 is nice and easy, just a big ol' rectangle. I've got some Tamiya light grey primer lying around, should do the job?
  11. Hello all. I'm sure this question has been asked a thousand times, but I'm looking for some advice on painting small yellow panels. I've got a couple of locos in plain green, and ideally I'd like to add yellow panels without having to do complete resprays. What's the best approach for this? I've read that a white primer base, and thin as possible layers of yellow are ideal. Anyone have any experience they could share? Cheers.
  12. I can't believe there's still no update! Here's hoping for some news soon, I'm excited to see the final samples!
  13. Very impressed with Accurascale and DHL! Ordered pack A and B, they just arrived at my doorstep in New Zealand only six days after ordering! That's got to be the fastest I've ever received a parcel from the UK. These wagons are absolutely top notch, exquisite and ripe with detail.
  14. Ditto for all of these!! Would certainly love to see an AM4 particularly.
  15. Indeed it was a surprise to see E1000/E2001 before any of the early AC electrics, here's hoping the manufacturers pick up on the growing market for them and start doing some more AC electrics and EMU's. I'm hoping for a 304 next! would be perfect alongside E2001.
  16. Oh fantastic! I've been looking forward to this prototype being produced for some time now! Fastest I've ever placed a preorder haha!
  17. Fantastic! Great choice of wagon, I'll certainly have to grab a few!
  18. Brilliant! Though I was very much hoping for a 4mm version. Fingers crossed if these sell well, Rapido will consider a 4mm offering too!
  19. I sure do hope they make another run of these!
  20. I agree, a Conflat P would be an excellent choice, and sure to be a great seller!

    2021 hopes

I reckon (if its ever made) it would undoubtedly be Bachmann. Considering their already existing WD 2-8-0, it just doesn't seem like Hornby's territory.

Unfortunately I don't have a 5MT of my own to look at, so I must be looking at the wrong images, though I did have one of their 4MT's, and that was a superb model. That being said, the standards have pretty much been covered across the manufacturers, so fingers crossed Hornby produces something new this time round. I'm rooting for a Claughton!

    2021 hopes

I agree in that I suspect some AC emu units are coming, though I doubt from Hornby. I wouldn't be surprised to see Bachmann or Heljan tackle a 303 or 304. Nor would I surprised to see either make a 310. I really can't express how much I want any manufacturer to make anything AC, there's just not enough of it in the market. On another note though, I wonder if Hornby would ever try a 5MT? Bachmann's model doesn't look to be that recent, and with Hornby already having the 4MT and now a 2MT in their range, perhaps a 5MT would fill a gap in their range?
  24. I do hope they go ahead and produce this. I don't even model an era suitable for this, but if they make it, I'll buy one anyways!
  25. Ah great, thanks! Strange that they don't have pictures of the actual wagons on the site, just the digital drawing.
