  1. The One stock is there from Hornby if you can afford it… only need about £800 for a rake 🤣🤑 I’m not an east anglia modeller but it has been rather under catered for for some time surprisingly I’m wondering if we will see an Oxford Mk.3A release of something east Anglian soon…
  2. It does indeed leave those three classes. Now the 50 tooling is 20 years old nearly? *not sure on actual age but 2002 sounds about right to me* now in 20 years we haven’t seen all the colour schemes and we haven’t seen all variations covered. If that isn’t leaving the door open for a manufacturer who already has tooled up the bogies I don’t know what is?
  3. To follow on to this, now I’m a massive Accurascale fan. However I’m yet to receive my batch of HYA/IIA wagons, as I went through a local retailer to get mine and that takes a bit longer to do. However I’ve seen the reviews online and the slight tooling problem, but it’s a simple fix the rest of my Accurascale stuff is spot on and I’m sure that the guys will be learning from this, they already have released a clip to show you how to fix it and the wagons look brilliant. But how many times do you see someone from Hornby Commenting in this community and giving and taking as good as it gets. You don’t. There’s guys on here at the likes of Cavalex, Realtrack, Revolution and of course Accurascale who really should be commended for putting up with our absolute dribble and impatience and lack of manors sometimes. These companies have a passion for modelling and want to connect to there buyers. Hornby just have a CAD designer who throws out a model every once in a while. *DISCLAIMER* or that’s how it feels, especially with how they treat smaller retailers as well who also have that passion for modelling.
  4. Personally I think it’s because the things like Azuma’s and Class 60’s aren’t as magical and interesting to non-train people. A steam locomotive drags in crowds and makes people stop and point. And maybe because Hornby isn’t full of Diesel & Electric enthusiasts these things slip through the net because the CAD designers don’t pay as much attention to them where as when they go to get photos of a steam engine they really enjoy it, because they aren’t modern modellers they are simply CAD designers… Sorry Mick, 2 ten and a half hour days are catching up with me. I must have got muddled up and I wasn’t aware they would send them out, I must get mine sent out to go with the countless new Modern Image ones I have purchased. I’m just saying why aren’t they doing it regardless and why do we have to ask for them and not just given them. Hopefully in the new releases the models will come with both supplied without asking…
  5. Completely agree they hit the nail on the head for so many reasons to pair up with stock and to be able to re-number them. If I remember correctly, the GNER coaches are too late on but could be wrong? Secondly wash your mouth out! Hornby 90!!!🤢🤮 Yeah that’s a fair point, do you reckon they can compare to how the original batch sold to how these have started selling with some good predictive software?
  6. I wouldn’t mention ploughs and 60’s, seen as Hornby have stopped supplying the best plough. They no longer give you the plough with coupling hole, which is frustrating to say the least. And yeah your right about the 47’s front steps, however on the Bachmann model you get switchable tail lights, cab lights, engine room lights and a plux 22 decoder socket. This is miles in front of the electric’s that Hornby are supplying, even with there ‘new’ 21 pin socket that in theory could be be the same one from the very old 60’s with sound fitted of the Loksound V3.5 variant… I will say it’s a bit half a dozen of one half a dozen of the other.
  7. Hornby’s Modern or even whole D&E team are just really letting the side down when it comes to progressing the hobby. I feel there at a Heljan level with the 91, but still miles off the Bachmann/Accurascale levels. I think that they really need to work on what’s coming out to make sure the rest of there releases come out above Heljan or even Bachmann level at least.
  8. The Rainbow Railways 90024 is absolutely fantastic. I’m glad I have mine I’ve paired it with 90028 in DB for now. I think you have to look really at what stock is available and what’s left to do with if its been applied to multiple 90’s. RES and EWS are good shouts as they could be re-numbered and they go with lots of rolling stock that’s available. RES would go with the Mk.1’s Bachmann already do and if I’m thinking correctly it would go with the Anglia Mk.2’s they should be doing, along with a few other bits. EWS pretty much should go with anything from Dapol ICA’s and Revolutions modern Cartic wagons to Hornbys LNER/VTEC Mk.4’s and anything in between with the multiple running numbers to go with it. I mean if they did toothpaste One Anglia livery then the Mk.3’s are there if you can get hold of them and it’s a close era to the Anglia Mk.2’s? The final point is as someone else said that will they be spreading peoples budgets too thin with AS’s 92’s and Heljan 86’s and Hornby 91’s all coming out? I guess the thing will be is how quickly the current batch disappears, if it goes quickly then I think we might see them sooner but if they are selling slowly we have our answers…
  9. Sorry to bring this point up for those who have purchased an azuma, but have Hornby actually offered to do anything to rectify there obvious mistake? No stickers/decals with customisable destinations etc? I find this rather amusing to say when another manufacturer got a decal in the wrong place they sent out whole new bodyshells! Are Hornby just assuming the crowd will put up and shut up or have they offered to do anything for the buyers?
  10. Where do we think Bachmann will go now? I mean an obvious one would be to do EWS. I don't think they will do a DB again for a while to help sales of the NRM/Collectors club models. RES would be a good shout, I'm hopeful for a Scotrail Sleeper one but think that's unrealistic tbh. I'm not sure we will see the new FL livery as we have had all three previous versions. But will those anglia fans finally get something to buy? Or what about 90034 in DRS?
  11. When I read this I was sure I’d seen something, lone behold. With the magic of Accurascale your wishes are my command, Taaaa-Da;
  12. By that point they will have announced more WCRC coaches and some riviera ones too!🙃
  13. Hi Charlie, I'm assuming this is an error and they will be different numbers? Shame there's no west Yorkshire destinations in the two northern ones. Cheers Chris
  14. Well it’s not like there going to make a habit of producing purple Locos…
  15. @TomScrutagain my personal preference now Revolution have announced the 175/180. Has to be the 185, It links into AS doing the TPE Mk.5’s but we don’t know what’s in AS’s pipeline. I think I remember they spoke of having £2million worth of toolings in development? So anything could be about to be announced! But my main shocker is that the 377/Electrostar family hasn’t been tackled with southern, Thameslink, LO, AGA, GWR and others all having something in that family that could be done with modular tooling. That range really is screaming out for it especially since the 450’s are so popular! Although you could say the same for the 320/321/322 family so many areas of the country and different liveries and so many era’s covered with those classes! The draw back of these is they are an OHLE unit which no manufacturer has really tackled yet in 00 Gauge.
  16. I know the first batch isn’t due any time soon but can I lodge a request for 31190 in modern era condition for the second batch? See link to a picture on Flickr; https://flic.kr/p/h5SjtA
  17. I think if AS we're to do a multiple unit then I think they would be doing some sort of 3/4 car unit first. I think the likes of the 185, 313, 320/321/322, 377/378/379, 455 or 507/508 would be a good starting point. The best idea is to dip your toe in and see how the market reacts. You can offer each of these units in a range of liveries from different era's using similar toolings. If successful and people are buying multiples of one unit then the call for a 12 car set might be there but what do you make, a unit that's brand new and only has a year range of about 3 years or something that has done 20+ years already?
  18. Hi Fran, Not to be a pedant as I can see the handles by the doors are missing but I'm assuming the CDL lights are also some of the few things missing from these decorated samples? The colours and stripe look right for the WCRC models so I'm looking forward to getting my hands on my pair!
  19. I have taken the interior of the SK and it's side panels and put them into an RMB or kitchen car chassis and roof. I've also added commonwealth bogies as stated above. This gives vents and extra boxes under the coach for the lpg tanks. I also used brown electrical tape to cover most of the corridor as in the actual coach there are only one/two doors. I had a friend spray the windows on one side and it looks good needs a bit more work on mine but I think I'll send it to a professional as I don't trust my skill to complete the job. This like removing pipework at the end and ive never been good with decals but they need adding.
  20. I’m very happy with this announcement would be nice to have a FNW 175 but that’s a bit out of my era, but remember them well from trips to Preston as a youngster. I think if I can afford them I’ll be buying two GC one’s and a Hull trains 180, as they really are the missing traction from my ECML layout. Now here’s hoping Hornby do a GC HST with orange stripe in the new tooling…
  21. Looking forward to getting my hands on some Northern 142's, especially now that I've seen these CAD images!
  22. I have quite a wide era buy for but I think 2019 is my cut of with most stuff aiming to be around 2015 the change from East Coast to VTEC for me. So a mix of Northern purples and white no purple is required really.
  23. Currently own; 6x JSA'S 2x KUA's 9x PFA's On order; 2x Deltics (55002 & 55009) 5x 37's (37423, 37602, 37608, 37609, 37610) 5x 92's (92032, 92036, 92038, 92042, 92043) 2x TPE Mk.5a sets 14x HYA wagons 16x IIA biomass wagons 12x MHA's 9x PFA's 2x WCRC Mk.2b coaches
  24. Take the 87, the cab detail is poor, and there is no room for a decent speaker. Having just received some Heljan 86's despite other issues there is room for a few decent styles of speaker. Let's see what happens...
