  1. Ohh dear, and look at how obvious the overspray is on it. Just so disappointing, how can Hornby actually feel that is acceptable? It’s so clear to see, and the QC department have just let it happen?
  2. After some more research it seems that the YQA Parr wagons were all but done with by 2017 as this photo shows two being donated to the SVR, and had to be moved in a consist so that enough brake force was achieved. Full description in the link and credit to the photographer. As with what Jo said, I think we can assume that the Parr wagons were converted into the SuperTench ones or were used for spares to keep those in service.
  3. Some of my own research for these wagons has been scrolling through Flickr for hours, not my favourite past time but non the less a fruitful one. As @Steadfast says with engineers trains there is no set consist just a thrown together mix which is a lovely ability to use whatever you want within reason… I've found that the YQA SuperTench have run in pairs, and still quite recently 23-10-2018. I struggled to find many YQA ‘Parr’ wagons in use recently, the best I could do with it in use and not just sat around a yard was this find, this is 11-04-2012 and I found a few from around this period but then a sudden stop in use? With the YLA ‘Mullet’ I did think I would have some trouble but a search brought up this cracking working, ideal for modelling as it’s a short’ish working and with some interesting traction! Taken 20-01-2019. Unfortunately for those after the BRA/BRV’s they are way out of my era and I wouldn’t be sure what dates to look out for. So apologies to anyone looking for inspiration on those ones! Hope this helps all!
  4. Hi Fran, Is there a route map for these? I like the idea of having a rake but would need to justify it running through an area I want to model, to move it up the list of potential purchases! Or did they only turn up on the two workings mentioned on the description? Still tempting just to have a long rake of them if that is the case...
  5. Two brilliant models for the modern modeller! Orders have been placed for these! Just missing a UKRL and DCR 56312 models now...
  6. These are looking good, I'm hoping for some good DCC functionality now (a working pantograph is too much to ask, but good controls for the lights would be appreciated)! The LNER one doesn't seem to have the vinyl square around the logo which is good for anyone looking to change it to Virgin but for anyone wanting to keep it as LNER it's a bit of work to be done. Rather happy with these images...
  7. A couple of people have already asked this but I've seen no reply to the question, as a modern image modeller this release as brilliant as they look doesn't fit into my era. However if you guys were to produce the riviera mk2 generator or the royal train ones that would be very interesting. I know that 17105 has undergone quite a few alterations but I think it would be quite a good seller? Cheers Chris
  8. Where did you get yours from?
  9. I'm actually hoping for Northern purple units as I never got the 150/1, and want a retooled 158 in the purple too. I can't blame you for holding out for the price to drop, seen as the new 150 isn't any different tooling wise to the old model.
  10. @Grimleygrid when should we be expecting them to hit the shops? I've already got mine pre-ordered so looking forward to getting them!
  11. I won't be in a rush to sell any of my current Bachmann 47's (all 10). I will be waiting to see which ones are released, if there any any that compliment my current roster. I am happy to see that they are tooling all versions flush fronts and cut cab being what I mainly have my eye on. I may replace some if the correct numbers are drawn, but that's a lottery game... 47790, 47853, 47812, 47580, 47830 would make me a empty my wallet...
  12. If it's like anything else they do, I can bet that there will be another couple of packs with different running numbers released in due course...
  13. I'm sure these will be more than worth waiting for, I'm hoping to get a few sound fitted ones for my collection!
  14. I'd quite like to see east coast grey with purple stripe done, and then the coaches in the silver and white livery to go with it done. I wasn't sure that the model zone special ones had the right silver? But more EMT ones would be good too!
  15. I'm not going to lie, I'm only after the NR & GBRF ones as I'm not doing Scottish regions, I do have a rake of Mk.3 sleeper vehicles building up for various traction to go on though...
  16. I think because of the 92's they have got potential buyers, but only for those with big layouts. To open it up to people who want shorter trains the 73/9's will do that, but depends on if the orders for the Mk.5's are strong enough which I think they will be without the 73/9's. But demand could be stronger for the 73/9's once the coaches are out because lots of people could have not registered an interest in the project and assumed it would go ahead in the meantime it means just waiting a bit longer...
  17. You need a second batch with more running numbers first.... That really is a cracker though!
  18. I would assume that it's it's a Typo from @toolongtoremember, I would expect Q1 2022 if not possibly before but all depends on how far off the decorated samples are looking. If they are good then I assume production would start straight away, if lots of faults are found then it's a couple more months away. Now I'm assuming fran and the team are triple checking things so that there isn't any miss prints or issues, so not to have anything wrong. You can't rush perfection...
  19. When is the pre-order deadline for these, very tempted for a triple pack of the weathered ones and the plain ones. I think they will suit 2010 onwards fuel trains... And a pack of the KBA barrier wagons from my 20's
  20. As someone modelling around 2016, the loco would have still been fairly clean and not in a horrible state, also would be unique for its skirts and high density lights and headcode boxes. Hard to get from any Bachmann or A/S models without major modifications. Chris
  21. I think it looked better in green and with its skirts and high density light split headcode boxes, Hint Hint!
  22. I feel like the Powerhaul models have sold better than the IC/RFD models. The bigger retailers only have the IC/RFD, suggesting the FL ones have sold out. ..
  23. Jerry I'm hoping they release an EWS 90 so I can have you work your magic and turn them into 90020 & 90037! Rather than that new Orange livery! (I'm not keen on it, to say I like Colas colours though...) Fingers crossed some time soon, otherwise it will be a full respray...
  24. That's where I was going to get mine from but I'm not sure if i should wait for a sound fitted model or snap up the DCC Ready one...
  25. Is there a sound fitted version of these coming out or only DCC Ready? I'm tempted by the Northern one...
