    EBay madness

And, as most of us will have thought, it was a slip of the pen finger - got a nice email back from the chap - good luck to him

    EBay madness

    Well, I've just queried it

    EBay madness

Hmm - once is happenstance, twice is suspicious, thrice is enemy action... One does wonder...
  4. This is a bit late 'coming to the party', but the Class 124 Transpennines were also restricted to 70mph - they had the same mechanical kit as many other 1st generation DMUs, and were 'Blue Square' for multiple working.

    EBay madness

Nearly had a coffee-keyboard interface moment when I saw the name...
  6. NP Ian - as a 4mm Midland man, it's always nice to see MR prototypes being modelled
  7. That's a nice-looking etch, Ian. Interesting choice for a model - I like it Mark

"THE MODELS IS SUPPLIED WITH COMPLIMENTARY TRAVEL / STORAGE BOX" Sadly someone will probably fall for that...

  14. Now then - in the early 1970s I used to go rail roving for a week in the summer - I remember one scheduled working to Blackpool South in the late afternoon which was a Class 124 Transpennine unit all right . I remember the platforms at South very well, & the signal box was well away from them, across the 'wilderness' where the direct lines used to be... Memories, eh?

    'Railroad' Tornado

Hi Mark I'll not be able to for a couple of weeks, but if no-one else has done so by the time I get home, I'll do just that. Cheers Mark
  16. I've just had an email from Hattons that my card's been debited, & my order is being packed. One very happy nephew in a few days, I think!
  17. I am, yes. I've settled on the pantograph fitted power car for the first one - the bow collector one will follow 'in due course', as the saying goes Thanks for the info on the books too - I'm pretty sure I've already got that one, but as I'm working away from home at present, I can't check Mark
  18. Hi Jamie Thanks for your reply. I really must 'knuckle down' and get on with it . The 'Skinley' plans for the stock, plus Donald Binns' books, were most helpful, of course. All the best Mark
  19. I'm another one who missed this thread . It's nice to know that others are interested in the MR electrics; my own poor offering will be in 4mm scale, once time/space/management permit . This is all looking good, and I too have a copy of 'The Pioneer Line' - how lucky we are that such footage was not only taken, but that it still exists. Mark
  20. Ashover - Bill Hudson Bakewell - Stan Roberts Garsdale Road - David Jenkinson
  21. I remember being hauled over Woodhead in the late 70s behind a brace of 24s. It was an excursion from Liverpool to Loughborough, iirc Mark
  22. Thanks for putting that up, Dan We look forward to welcoming folk to the clubroom in due course; in the meantime we hope that the website will entertain Mark
