Today two pre-Grouping jumpers were withdrawn from service and sent for scrapping. A further jumper of that era was placed into departmental service.

  BigP - the Blue Pullover Preservation Society has already been formed, but currently doesn't think that it can afford to preserve more than one sleeve and perhaps the other cuff. They are holding a jumble sale next week and are confident of raising enough cash to preserve part of the back area, but they'll have to be quick, because contractors have already indicated that they will start to remove some wool in the near future.

  All my pre-Grouping jumpers were scrapped long ago. They're all made to UIC loading gauge now....
