  1. My 30064 arrived this morning, beautiful model. Been running-in this morning, very smooth and quiet. Hope to fit a decoder later today. First pic is on the mainline with a SNCF (HO) version in the background: ....and later posing on shed: It is interesting seeing how much smaller the HO version released by REE Modelles is which despite being smaller comes equipped with working lights, sound and crew.......but at a price somewhat higher than the MR/Bachmann model. Keith
  2. Sorry to go off topic but at the moment I'm probably doing more modelling than you have or will ever do both indoors and outdoors: ......and its all my own work Keith
  3. I suggest that you read and understand my message before you post one of your standard replies. I am not complaining about having to wait a couple of days longer for my (as you call them) toy trains. What I am pointing out is that the procedures being followed by Kernow, bearing in mind what we have been told, is annoying. Keith
  4. It does get annoying though when you read stories like this about items being ordered and shipped immediately ..... and people like me are still waiting for their orders that were placed ages ago. I know Kernow (or people speaking on their behalf) say that it is much easier for them to process such new orders immediately rather put the order to the back of the queue and process it at a later date but it does irritate and make a nonsense of the frequent statement that orders will be processed in the order that they were received....... Keith
  5. Have just looked at the LT Museum website and the white one (which I prepaid for in January) is still shown as "pre-order" with information that the model will be despatched in September 2016 - date to be confirmed. Keith
  6. My Southern Railway versions were delivered by Tony at Interlink at lunchtime today. My Southern E4 was given the task of giving the new coaches a spin round the layout: and was later seen taking the coaches up the incline: Think they look quite good. Got to wait until next month until I get my hands on the crimson versions as ordered these through my local dealer and I only visit him once a month ....... and my last visit was yesterday! Keith
  7. ..... and the same for the Southern Railway ones. Keith
  8. Colin. My Blue Pullman sits comfortably in a 180cm Train-Safe tube. Keith
  9. Back in January I paid £153.95 + £4.00 postage making total of £157.95 for 66721 that was advised as being in stock at that time but was not actually in stock at the time my model was ordered which was within three hours of receiving the email from LTM advising that the model was in stock. Whenever my model does arrive, looking at the current price of £169.99 I've at least saved £16.04 over what I paid in January. Can't complain about that....... Keith
  10. ......which means that the one I paid for back in January (upon receipt of the incorrectly worded email from LTM) should be on its way to me..... Be interesting to see when it does arrive. Keith
  11. I had the same problem, there is no hidden screw......just a very tight body sitting on the chassis!! It took me ages to get the body off but finally with left-hand finger and thumb holding the tank and right-hand finger and thumb somehow pulling on the chassis between the driving wheel the body and chassis came apart. Be interesting to know which decoder you will be fitting - I put a TCS DP-UK in mine. Keith
  12. Early this morning, whilst still in bed deeply engrossed in the latest issue of "Southern Way", was rather surprised by the arrival of a FedEx guy delivering the loco and coach pack that I had only ordered at 23.37 on Wednesday evening...... and its only Friday today!! Still waiting, though, for the arrival of my copy of the latest issue of "Bachmann Times" so must thank those who posted the details of the package on here. Keith
  13. Just having a clearout in my lock-up garage and found some stuff wrapped in pages of the Daily Mail dated May 29. 1978 with full-page advert for Vauxhall Chevette Hatchback at prices from £2291 to £2920 including fitted front seat belts, car tax and VAT at 8%

      Horsetan

That must have been fairly high revs at 70.

The price tags on the Chevette SR and HSR must have made interesting reading at the time.

      NGT6 1315

Now why did I read that as Vauxhall Chavette?

  14. Maybe slightly off-topic but I often pre-order with Jura Models in France, give them my card details and my card account gets hit when the item is available and gets shipped. If a French model railway shop in the Jura Mountains can run such a system maybe Kernow should look for another card processing company. Maybe they could start looking at the system used by Hornby...... The other annoying feature of the Kernow system is that Barclaycard process the refund and credit my card account immediately..... before they take the original payment the following month. All unnecessary hassle for all parties. Because of this I've stopped doing such online transactions with Kernow and now telephone my preorders to them as I did when pre-ordering Maunsell. Keith
  15. The pre-ordering system is not just random its just well and truly screwed-up. When the models were first announced last year I expressed an interest in the white version. Earlier this year I received the email which intimated that the model was available so I paid in full and started to wait but nothing as yet has been delivered. I tried contacting them by phone but never got a human at the other end. Left a message on the answerphone but heard nothing........ Keith
  16. John, Piko produce the Polish locos (as does a small German company or Schliessen or something....) . Have a look at www.piko.de and you'll find details of what they do. I collected an EU06 this week!! Keith
  17. Being one of the first to place their order No.24 has just reached the far south east corner ..... am out this afternoon but hope to get it out of the box and read the instructions and follow Andy's guidance when putting it together - then I will find out if the Train-Safe I've got waiting for it is long enough. Many thanks to Sandra and the team for expediting the despatch of the set.. Keith
  18. Looking at the Hobby Shop (my local hobby shop) website somebody has got in quick, its disappeared from the website! Keith
  19. As the Garrett is a Hatton's commission maybe this thread should now be moved to the Hatton's section of Retailers Commissions. Keith
  20. ...... and if you have a BarclayCard depending upon your statement date you can end up getting the refund in the current month and getting charged the following month. Bizarre but that's how BarclayCard operates. Keith
  21. Well, I've done my bit to help out. Couple of days ago ordered and paid for a British Monarch from the Last Chance Saloon. Keith
  22. When I spoke with the lady at Drax when these models were first announced she told me that Drax would not be distributing these models themselves but were talking with a fulfilment agent the details of which would be announced in due course. That they choose Hattons seems to me to be a sensible and good choice. Keith
  23. John, Have they charged your card yet? I tried to contact them by phone but, like you, could not get through. Left a message with contact details on their answerphone but heard nothing from them. Keith
  24. David, Seems as though there is somebody trying to prevent positive coverage of the activities. Was speaking to a friend of mine, one of whose friends works on security at Dover (for Dover Harbour Board I think) and he says that his friend has been instructed to approach and stop people at ground level trying to take pictures of the work in progress. Can understand it if those trying to take the pictures were putting themselves in danger but don't think this is the case. All seems rather bizarre as there is nothing sinister about the work being done by Network Rail. In fact I think what Network Rail has done is just fantastic especially in the way that they have organised the work in hand in such a short period of time. More people need to know what they are doing. Keith Keith
