  1. At the end of the day, Falcon & No.6 head off to be watered and sanded. Coaling took place at the shed.
  2. Hi All, S,G, was booked to appear at Newcastle show in Nov. However due to spiralling van hire costs it has not made the cut. I see it is advertised to appear in some publications. I know this is devastating news and how upset you must all be. All is not lost my micro layout (don't blink, you'll miss it) Hallbankgate / Tarnhouse / Hallbank or whatever name it has this week will be there. It's in the seldom frequented Standard Gauge Industrial forum if you are curious.
  3. Last one for now. Naworth No.6 propelling wagon of domestic coal to the Landsale depot. The crew must have jumped ship. Just some detailing work to do. On a personal level less is more concerning detail, or it gets too gimmicky, I don't especially like seeing people fishing/skipping/ window cleaning etc. It becomes what I call a B.O.B. layout (Bus on bridge). Frame tomorrow.
  4. Getting some grass in place, using hanging basket liner, which I hope is 'straw' enough for the autumnal vibe. Also first attempt at modelling a stream. I need some fine stones for the bed. Feeling more confident about finishing it.
  5. I think I could actually finish it! Running is fine with some interesting shunting moves. Alas I will have to use industrial stock I already have, as I don't think I will get NCB stuff finished (or indeed started).
  6. Due to spiralling van hire costs. Tarnhouse will be at Newcastle Exhibition instead of South Gallions. Second weekend in Nov. Full details later.
  7. Maybe, just maybe it could finish for Workington Ex in Nov. (pls excuse the Lambton tank)
  8. A small amount of work done on the sheep crossing, a long way from finished. Of course it didn't exist, but I wanted a scenic break
  9. 1) No6 Removes an empty from the landsale depot 2) No6 at the sand and water. I know, the loco is the wrong way round!
  10. Crossing Keeper's cottage now finished. Thank-you to my 10 year old grandson Josh for making the tree!
  11. Yay! I've managed to get some work done. The xing keepers cottage should finish soon. I used Doll's House carpet for the lawn. The B4 in the shed is a space filler. There is a chance that it will finish for Workington in Nov. Not many fiddly bits left to do.
  12. General view of the main buildings. I am so pleased to get these out the way, I hope the scenic side will be completed for Workington Show in Nov. Having said that I still have to build those wagon kits and finish 'Tindale' Hmm, maybe not this November!
  13. Sorry, another question; what is the contraption on the rear of the chimney? Many thanks!
  14. Eventually a building finished, in truth I am finding it increasingly difficult to physically do any modelling. Also I wonder if I should move this thread to 'Layout Progress as these snaps aren't really 'industrial' Any way on with the sheep bridge, then the scenics. Just a question, has any one out there used a static grass applicator and has a pacemaker fitted? The results could be interesting.
  15. Hi Eddy, A cheeky request, have you got a sketch for your sliding FY. What stepper motor did you use? I appreciate you will be busy with other stuff, but thanks anyway. Ian B
  16. I promised myself that I would keep up to date with any progress on this rather forgotten outpost of RMweb. Busy with the path down from the mortuary to track level. I have had to make a few changes to the position of the buildings to get everything where they looked best. I'm always prepared to sacrifice reality for effect. Next big project is a non-existent sheep bridge to act as a scenic break on the Kirkhouse end. In truth in future builds (if there are any) I don't think I would ever go for an actual place again, too restrictive!
