  1. Excellent effort Neil. Worthy of a thread of its own! I also am really impressed with the building. Guy
  2. Hi Graeme. Bachmann had about 3 glass fronted display cases in the main hall near the coffee shop seats. I walked past them a few times before I saw them when I was looking down from the balcony. Guy
  3. Hi Phil I really like how you are adding ground cover and general debris. What make and colours is the 'green stuff' you are using? Cheers Guy
  4. Hi Ian. As usual another brilliant little layout in the making. I like your choice of colour for the concrete (always something I struggle with) and the Bachmann portacabins look very nice, infact it would seem silly to buy the Knightwing ones now. Keep up the good work and keep us informed about choice of colours and materials Cheers Guy
  5. Good pics Neil, lots of atmosphere. When I use my phone or point and shoot camera I always use the the timer setting. Stops the movement when you press the button and helps stop the blur especially with low light and no flash. Guy
  6. Hi Phil, looks good now you have the centre platform in and the bridge. Cant wait to see a couple of DMUs and short loco hauled services in there. Well done mate. Guy
  7. Fantastic scrap load Richard. Well done. What paints powders etc did you use? Guy
  8. I do like the offices in the corner, nice touch. where did you get all the transfers and warning signs from that adorn it? I especially like the black door that is the fire escape with all its signs and handle etc. Guy
  9. Sorry but its going to have to be another 'me too' post. warrants more than just a +1. Excellent workmanship on all counts. Guy
  10. Hi Phil Your really cracking on now, nice one. One thing I would do is keep on flicking the points over before the ballast fully dries, just incase there is a bit of glue on them. I did it with mine and managed to release them before they stuck fast! Guy
  11. Nice work and explanation with the decals. Saved me buying a book this thread has!! Guy
  12. There can be no doubt, you don't do things by half measures! Very interesting and informative thread. Thank you for the detailed pics and info, I will not be attempting this level of work myself but as a complete rookie in the detailing stakes and I have found this thread helpful. Thank you. Guy P,S Don't scrimp on the masking and painting pics. Cheers
  13. i like it Leon. I bought the same background for my TMD only Yesterday! But I think it suits the industrial expanse of your layout beter. And I didn't know it was Wales! I bought it because I thought it looked like a fair representation of the industry around Teesside (Even though I knew it wasn't Teesside). Guy
  14. Hi Leon once again cracking pics. I don't comment all the time but I always come for a nose around and admire the new pics/progress as I'm sure a lot of people do. So keep on posting and I/we'll keep on looking. Oh and what site did you get the background pics from? Cheers Guy
  15. Ouch!! But could of been worse. It could of been dropped into the hull of a Ship!! Guy
  16. Good work on starting the fiddle yards. But that first pic is prob one of your best yet. Guy
  17. You say not a lot.to show. But those trusses really look the part now you have sprayed them. That wall has a complete look about it. Where did you get the trusses from? Do you think 4 could be joined along the long edge to make a tower? Cheers Guy
  18. Excellent project, really looking forward to watching this progress. Guy
  19. Wow you dont mess about!! Cracking progress and a good little layout. Very nice Guy
  20. It's great is'nt it when you flick that switch and it works! Wait till you have your panel done its great. Good idea to include leds, I wish I had. Guy
  21. Cracking layout Arnie, great locos. What products did you use stain your ballast the various colours. Really effective especially the oil stain effect. Guy
  22. Good work on the ballasting and wall Phil. That section is starting to get a 'complete' look about it Guy
  23. Hi Phil, nice to know I'm not alone. You get to do half a dozen hobbies all in one and each one you want to give your full attention to.....then something else grabs your attention. Guy
  24. Hi Phil. Cracking progress, makes me want to crack on with mine.I would recommend popping down to the library (or amazon) and getting Electronics for Dummies. I found it invaluble for getting my head round transistors, resistors, LED's, diodes etc. Seems a bit patronising when you first start it but it really is a good basic reference manual. Loving the line up of Grids and the low relief buildings. Keep up the rapid progress Guy
