  1. Not sleep inducing one bit - though I did scarilly have flashbacks to the annual budget meetings for Clayhills & Craigentinny! Great piece of work for anyone interested in accurately portraying the workings round a CARMD/T&RSMD!
  2. twas a requirement for all loco-hauled stock passenger or non-passenger carrying irrespective of type or region....
  3. Paul, These days your enquiry would be best addressed to one of the many diesel preservation groups - in your case more specifically the Diesel Group at the SRPS in Bo'ness who are more likely to have a historical copy of the BR Diesel Examination and Maintenance Schedule and the examination block cards relevant to the Scottish Region. Bear in mind however what "not Captain Kernow" said above - be prepared for you to have to go there rather than get copies emailed, as you are talking middleweight book proportions here - not something anyone can remember off the top of their head...... Out of interest - why are you needing it? This topic has turned up from time to time here, whith the same answers and no resolution I'm afraid....
  4. That has got to be a first - a uniquely Scottish class! Well done Dave. (It wouldn't put me off buying one or three however await the naysayers downing of the model of a model concept).....
  5. If have the boogers on here could sing that song after all these years well I'd give them prime spot.......

  6. Never mind the fact that they are not 2f's it's when the "kits" are copied from the Airfix original with some of what was wrong - droplights that look as if they've got 6" radius corners and are far too wee to boot. (the kit might as well have been just a resin cab end......) though most annoying is the lack of cab detail and solid gangways moulded in to the vehicle, and the mysteriously straight profile rather than a 2 deg. inward slope....... Back to the drawing board End of rant...
  7. Hopefully that's stirring in the North-Easterly direction Dave - sticking to 12" to the foot models for the Border Badland's
  8. No problem Tom. In the posting I gave the wrong number range since corrected - here's the full correct list (as built and originally allocated)..... Lot 30485 Diag 97 E1801-1812 Built York 1958 BR Bogies Lot 30507 Diag 98 SC1838-1848, S1849-1852 Built Wolverton 1960 BR Bogies Lot 30520 Diag 99 W1813-1816, M1817-1828, SC1829-1837 Built Wolverton 1960 CW Bogies1 Lot 30670 Diag 99 E1853-1864 Built Wolverton 1962 CW Bogies Lot 30702 Diag 99 M1865-1870, E1871-1882 Built Wolverton 1962 CW Bogies 1 There is evidence to suggest that despite the diagram book (and Parkin), some of the vehicles within this lot were supplied with BR Bogies at least at first anyway.
  9. By default Tom the RMB kit covers both diagrams 98 or 99 (you can specify the bogie type anyway) so therefore from 1813 to 1882. You can equally use the same kit for diagram 97s (1801-1812) that had the additional seating bay replaced with the same store cupboard as the 98/99 having also lost the bodylight at the same time (though the roof vent and fan layout would need changing as would the rainstrips from straight to curved.....) See here in the 'junior' scale department
  10. Biggest laugh for me was McCoist's fall from grace in the dugout. Gone will be the luxury of Recaro seats, to be replaced (at most away games) with at best a couple of planks - or maybe even the luxury of concrete slab.... Fortunately my boyhood hero John Greig is well out of these days....
  11. Never mind the tartan bag - what about the "burd" wearing a wee tweed jacket, Wranglers and the red Kickers (like Adidas bags easily recreated these days)!
  12. just Edinburgh - Glasgow (white on red) labels Keefer - they seemed to appear after the Aberdeen Service went over to 47/7 & DBSO sets. There had been a few attempts at different labelling - I got boards made originally for them that fitted in the toilet/luggage rack half bodylights but they didn't last too long when they kind of fell into disuse and they started fitting the ordinary Destination labels but these got ripped off the droplights and someone came up with that simple version that didn't need changed every hour! Later of course replaced with the self adhesive Scotrail logo'd ones fitted permanently to the toilet / luggage rack half bodylights.
  13. The St.Rollox painters had a brainstorm with that one! Quite sad to see 9706 - it could only been out the works less than a week when that photo was taken. Last few times I saw it after that was at Redding a few minutes after the derailment then a week later reduced to even more bits (not unlike you see in the FAA aircraft reconstructions) in a shed at Townhill Wagon shops. Thanks for posting it Keefer
  14. Two per customer? (with each having two traction motors isolated)
  15. One of Chris Green's fights for the region was avoiding the loss of control to the sectors -specifically Regional Railways - he wanted to retain the autonomy of the British Railways (Scottish Region) Board as far as internal services were concerned. The first full E&G set through works was painted in a variation of the then Inter-City executive livery before he decided to have two? vehicles painted at St.Rollox with different coloured bands - one in rail blue, and the other a darker shade - not unlike the Caledonian railway dark blue for a one off presentation to him at Queen Street Station. I've no idea what he thought about them however clearly not a lot as it never got any further, the remaining sets and vehicles being eventually painted in the post-1985 version (and without the light grey band above the cant rail). To avoid any doubt - despite what some magazines said at the time and since, there was no such thing as the Regional Railways (ScotRail) sub sector.... He saw to that!
  16. Pondering a MkII in 7mm Scale....

How did you get on with the 7mm DBSO?

Stalled while I design some better B4s in brass Richard...... (otherwise complete excpet the cab front) thanks

  17. Thinking of how a Deutz Generator could crack glass at Queen St. (on the roof)!

  18. They all should have been covered Brian. It was one of the High Security modifications made to the vehicles following the Great Train Robbery - so at a guess anything from say 65' onwards would have had the mod done - or at least be scheduled for it.
  19. Far more HBS's than you can shake a stick at - Chard will blow a proverbial gasket at this collection..... From this first one onwards.... Anyone got any realistic suggestions for working headlamps in 4mm scale? (or is it a case of hunting Perth show for the two 4mm cars/vans with clear 7" Lucas Headlamps as sacrificial lambs?
  20. Hoping to at least have the track laid later this month. (trust me that's progress)!

  21. No mainline registered Mark 1s in 1968 - nor Preservation groups running there own stock on the main line for that matter - Entirely gen-u-ine BR Stock 5 years before maroon disappeared entirely! (p.s. Chris the photo's dated 7th October 68')
  22. These are great finds Michael. It looks for all the world that the yard supervisors split up a rake of ex-works (judging by the roof condition) blue & grey vehicles and dropped them into one of the regular excursion / spare sets - split & reform by the bucketload. Happy days.
