Yes but since they are grouped from a number of different classes and prototypes the only variant with any consistency will be the 20 Courts. The others are a minefield for any RTR manufacturer to cover the more common variations at the appropriate point in time any model is intended to represent. Mark

Yes the WR only had a few brake open seconds and some open firsts. The picture of the Liverpool Penzance was primarily 2c’s so it would definitely have been Midland region stock. However that means I need more than just the handful of WR allocations. I think the in 80’s things got a bit more mixed up as older stock was cascaded onto secondary routes. Mark

Here are some shots of mine taken in the late 80's. A bit of internal reflection in the camera of the first and last 50's Taken early 1987. The second was taken in 1988 off the wall at Penzance. Mark -

My cutoff is 1980 but I could just about stretch to 1984. 50023 would be a perfect choice as the first large logo blue with grey roof and no orange band. -

Phew!! Wallet saved by the presence of an Orange line!😃 Mark -
Apart from the front end issue noted the rear buffer beam on any 45xx below 4555 would have the extended fill in piece from the extended bunker. Te Bachmann model only really covers 4555 to 4574. Also the sand boxes were different. At that time they were supported on a vertical bracket. It seems during the war years the arrangement was changed presumably to make them easier to access for filling. Mark

For starters the Bachmann 4500-4574 valence should be wider over the cylinders. The motion bracket on the 4575 is wrong and should be the flanged type seen on the later large prairies. The motion bracket on both has what I assume is a lubrication filler for the vacuum pump on both sides of the motion bracket. It should only be on the right hand side. Mark

Personally I want the everyday mundane rather than post BR liveries. Mark -

Yes but the question is how long it ran with the headlight blanked off in the form Accurascale are issuing it. Mark -

Apart from 50006 as proposed has the headlight plated over because they didn’t have enough lights initially after refurbishment so they were blanked off and fitted later. Not sure how long it was but I suspect it wasn’t long. Similarly the original version without multiple unit jumpers only existed for a short time. Mark -

I will no doubt be buying lots of these but fortunately there is only one of the first batch I can use so hopefully early large logo livery and pre 1978 Tops will follow in a way that helps to spread the cost. Nice to see the characteristic droop of the rain strip on the cab sides. Mark -
Sorry to hear that. Pretty much all of the Bristol group have had to drop out too as a result of getting COVID from a curry night nearly two weeks ago. Pretty annoying having bought advanced tickets! Get well soon. Mark

Last Wednesday I took a picture of some cloud formations from the living room. Look at the cloud shape that is closest to the roof on the right. A sad omen taken the day before. R.I.P

Hi Fran. I think it is the other way around. If you consider the forces in the bogie frame are pushing down on the ends of the spring then the axle box will rise in the horn guide increasing the distance from the bottom of the axle box to the tie bar. So on that basis the model would be heavily laden and the photo less so. I will search through my books to see if I can find any other images. If you look closely at the photograph and the model there is a rivet just above the tie bar and there is very little distance either side of the rivet to the top of the tie bar and the bottom of the horn guide stiffener strip. The gap on the model seems to be quite exaggerated in comparison. At the end of the day it is a simple thing for people to correct if they so wish and is a relatively small feature of an otherwise excellent model. Mark

I have recently listed three pairs of E140/145 B Sets on EBay for anyone who might be interested here. These are 5522 Brass kits and are no longer available. I have offered them at £110 per pair (£55 per coach). I have done all the metal forming including forming the roof from flat sheet and all parts are present. The price therefore reflects the work already done and the cost of the original kits 20+ years ago. The Kits do not include castings, interiors or bogies. http:// https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/195188330047 Mark
