  1. It's been a while since the last update, however work has been carrying on behind the scenes.

The layout has been completely re-wired, this has been a big but worthwhile job and means everything should be more reliable, particularly at exhibitions.

We've also added in relays to work in conjunction with the signals that have been installed on the layout. I'm hoping to do a short video on this in the future.

At home, I've been working on the station and low relief warehouse buildings - these are coming along well and should be finished soon.

Jobs to be completed over the next few months will include installing the remaining signals, adding the platform tops and getting the points set up - plenty to be getting on with!

    Thanks for reading.

    Hi Chris,

There is a possibility of the odd one becoming available after the models arrive and we collate any cancellations. It will be a first come, first served basis if any do, so make sure you keep an eye on here, our website or social media for when that will occur.

You can also go to our website and sign up to the "email me when it becomes available" service under any model that's sold out. If you sign up to this you will be the first to know if something is back in stock, with an email sent to you direct.

    Cheers!

    Thanks Fran, much appreciated.

  3. Just the re-run of the Castle Cement PCA wagons at the moment - 6 for now but would like to increase this as funds allow.

At the moment there isn't any 37's that catch my attention, hoping for some privatisation liveries in the future. Don't run OHLE and therefore can't accommodate any 92's. The Deltic is out of my era.

    A 31 would be nice...

Whilst I agree that "shiny new models" sell, especially if they come with "I didn't see that coming" attached, I still can't help thinking there are some cheaper reliveries that could equally generate some very much needed revenue and sales without the need to spend between a quarter and a million sovs on tooling.  I've already said the VEPs go for daft money on Tatbay which indicates a pent up demand, and how many times have you heard us wanting a banger blue 31/4?  The 50 - warts and all - will always benefit from some more NSE and Large Logo liveries.  They won't grab the headlines from Ritalin deprived YouTube bloggers, but for the cost of some artwork design and raw materials, they should be a cheaper way of getting that all important cashflow as Hornby tries to rebuild it's finances.

Their recent track record in reliveries on existing toolings isn't brilliant and I'm surprised to be honest what could be a useful cash cow to help boost the "innovation" fund isn't being given more rational attention by the company.

Clearly enough people haven't been providing feedback as to the specific 31's that are popular and would sell and perhaps haven't been produced yet. In some glimmer of hope, we have finally seen the Large Logo Blue and BR Blue 56's announced, which are now rare as hens teeth and pop up on a certain auction site for inflated prices!

Do you think it's possible they have been allocated 'x' amount of production time, and knowing this, have shuffled things around, to ensure 2007 Prince of Wales gets produced on time - before the 1:1 is in action?

    Just a thought.

    Al.

If that is the case, it would be a shame. Sometimes it feels like the D&E stuff gets pushed back in favour of the steam stuff..

  6. Personally I don't think this new offering has enough difference in it for me to consider buying it - probably more enjoyment in taking the previous generation and improving it with Shawplan parts.
