Depending on which one your looking for, contact Accurascale directly to see if there’s any cancellations. The same would apply to Rails and Locomotion but don’t hold your breath. There’s also D9000/55022 on eBay.You'll need to sign up for the waiting list emails on the Accurascale website. There's a box (or at least there was) under each model to do this.

They'll turn up when they turn up, just be patient - its only a model train after all 😴
However, still holding out for a Porterbrook one..

Nobody is forcing you to read the thread, this will be where people will post their thoughts on their new models when they arrive.
Personally, very much looking forward to when mine arrives.
Let's just try and keep it on topic to the AS 55's..

Back on topic..
Here in hope that one of the purple ones becomes available!

Progress on the layout has been quite slow of late. I find with work and other things I often lack motivation to get on with stuff, however I've managed to spend a few hours this afternoon working on the platform.
I've used an acrylic asphalt textured paint to do the tops and then roof dirt for the coping stones. Plenty of weathering to do on this in time.

How's the A5 EM point kit coming along Wayne?

It's a limited run and therefore clearly only a select number are going to be able to purchase it in that time frame, that's just the way it is. In regards to the comment about stuffing and mounting the models because of their limited edition nature - I'm already researching on how I'm going to weather these - in my opinion there to be used and run - not put in a display cabinet!

These are just outside my era, however they look absolutely stunning and therefore I've pre-ordered a set. Excellent work, looking forward to receiving them.

A/S Thread - keep up dear boy! When one company allegedly spent £1m with their parent company on a loco, these boys mentioned they had spent £2m on tooling 5 kettles and 6 diesels (well one is a Class 31) making 5.
If one company happened to spend £1m on one and the other £2m on eleven, then someone has got a very good deal and someone has fared less well!
Thanks for the update and just to say in relation to keeping up, I don't spend all my day reading RMWeb - hence the original comment/question.

Precisely, get it done right, first time.
The Hattons Class 66 is superb, but whenever you work from someone else's platform, you are comprised by what has been done before. I think by the time anyone had bought the tools and had them modified/refined/altered you would be as well off to start from scratch and design something you know will work, than risk messing with something else that might nearly get there. Do you think the A/S gang would be happy with that?
You are assuming that the 66 is not already tooled by A/S......there are 5 more diesels we do not know about. Maybe they wanted an excuse for a working holiday in Egypt and measured one up off the radar......
Where have you got that number for 5 more diesels that we don't know about?

In and amongst hoping for good weather to get the 56 in the last post on to the painting stage, I've been catching up on some existing projects.
I picked up this DRS 20 from the Doncaster Show a few months ago now and have set about changing its identity to 20308 which matches up to where the side logos should be.
So far I've removed the numbers, fitted the pipework to the bufferbeams and the chassis has had an initial coat of Railmatch weathered black. From here I'll move on to the airbrush weathering stage and get the new numbers on.

Absolutely superb work James, you've captured the look of these fine machines well. Some would argue that the Hornby model deserves a re-tool, however I would say it still stands up to weathering and detailing, capturing the bulk and character of the prototypes well.
Looking forward to seeing more soon.

The faded 08 looks lovely Nick, certainly a job well done. I'm tempted to have a look at O gauge myself, being suitably impressed with the level of detail and competitive prices on offer.

37's in Loadhaul, EWS, Mainline Blue - would be superb please..

Some really nice work here Martin. The fiddle yard looks like it will do the job just nicely.
Looking forward to seeing further progress.

Hi chris,
Not sure if its my eyes playing tricks on me but looks like you havnt filled in the slots where the old roof fans used to be, this will in turn let the Shawplan grills sit flat on the roof as they should be. Plus with the horn grill mesh it clogs very easily whilst spraying

Hi Nick,
You are correct in your comments. On this one it's a compromise I'm don't mind having as I'm still very much a novice with adding these detailing parts - I've got another 56 to do which I hope I'll have more confidence with!

Project 56066 continues.
I'm going to honest. This is probably the most intricate modelling I've done in a long time. Fitting these parts requires care and patience and whilst not 100% perfect, I'm happy with the results. Perhaps once I've got some primer and colour on it will look less raw.

It depends what your budget is, although you can find plenty of complete airbrush and compressor kits on Amazon and eBay which do the job just fine.
I would use the search function here on the forum, there is plenty of existing threads with lots of advice.

I thought it was about time I started a workbench thread in this section of the forum to record some of the projects I'm working on.
First up is this Hornby 56 which has had some Shawplan etches added from Brian's superb range of parts. This is the first time I've gone down this route of detailing, however I've enjoyed the process and can see that the extra effort will produce good results.
This Grid will eventually become 56066 in Triple Grey Transrail livery. Next step will be to get some primer on and move though the next steps

Just advising the user on the process. I'm already on the list for a Porterbrook one but I'm not holding out much hope!
