  1. More likely I think, that Gresley RBs are being confused with the two Thompsons (1705/06, built for the 1948 'Flying Scotsman rake, AFAIK), which did work on ScR internal services until the mid/late 70s The 1972 RCTS book lists 9115/22/23/24/28/29/31/32/35/95 (all E-prefix apart from '35, which was W); all would have likely been blue/grey by then, apart possibly from '95 which was a different design and withdrawn soon after.
  2. Shoc's looking good Pete, it's a nice kit with a lot of potential, given the prototype's variations. I never did fathom the variable stanchions on the cattle vans though - they can vary within the same diagram
  3. Brian Webb, in his D&C Locomotive Studies (the ones on EE locos and the Deltics), states they were 'generally similar', but obviously didnt ask Lloyd about the specifics There is a bit more info about the lightening work, which again has parallels with the work done on the later 20s, but given the step issue and the likelihood of there being plenty of spares within the 20 fleet, swaps between the classes would seem unlikely
  4. Whether that be true or not, it seems more than a tad unfair to berate Chris for it. If a change in policy was to come about, I'd have thought it hardly likely to do so via a short run limited edition
  5. 39 my @r$e :-)

    How are you mate?

  6. Possibly a red herring, but werent the cl. 87s and the WCML timetables upgraded to 110mph scheduling at around the time these vehicles were introduced? (or was it t'other way round, the scheduled speed was simply a result of the braking capability )
  7. All Heljan locos are made in *fairly* small runs, but like everything else, I'd expect them to keep their options open and their cards close to their chest when it comes to repeat runs I'd say the NBL cl. 16 was more limited than the Baby Delt, and the Clayton in turn much less so. Not that that matters - many of the potential purchasers of any of these types will be people who dont arbitrarily limit themselves to certain areas if a nice model is on offer Apparently so; according to a snippet I saw in RExM they are now targetting smaller classes and oddities (I was only reading it over someone's shoulder in Smiffs )
  8. Two mates now. You're slipping.

  9. Aye, that's it Lloyd. I know it's come up before but I can never remember the details
  10. :icon_mutter: :icon_mutter: :icon_mutter: [student mode]if it had have been, I'd have bought loads[/student mode] :icon_mutter: :icon_mutter: :icon_mutter: Model their early years - they were apparently seen on occasion at Mablethorpe and/or Grimsby
  11. So I suppose this is the improved PM/conferency type thing Andy mentioned then?
