  1. soldered up a yard of O gauge track last night - first go without a "kit" of parts - noticed how Templot makes the sleepers closer together at the track joins - nice!

  2. browsed RMweb last night on my Wii - modelling in 42" widescreen!

      funnily enough ...

  4. maybe so, but these things do fetch silly money, I bought a Hornby one pretty cheaply for someone, who then changed his mind - I sold it on eBay for in excess of £20 a few years ago ..... As it keeps getting said, the price is only what someone is prepared to pay, if he has set his BIN too high, it won't sell and his fees will be wasted.
  5. Badger Golden Champion in my Baby Deltic glass ........

  6. The Waverley point kit is all assembled, painted and wired up ready for laying I used Humbrol Matt 113 for the rust and PP Weathered Wood for the sleepers. Wired up using twisted pairs stripped from CAT5 cable soldered to the underside of the rail. Went to Marcway yesterday and spent half my Christmas money on more rail and sleepers for the rest of it. Ordered a Traintronics TT300 from Bromsgrove Models today to make the point work B) I guess I'll spend more time tonight cutting up sleepers - why din't I buy them ready cut?
  7. keep 'em coming chaps, as my new O gauge layout is a ficticious heritage line station it should be full of clichés - just like the real thing!
  8. bought a dirty great 42" LCD LG TV in the Currys "Sale" - bit of a step up from an old 26" 4 x 3 jobbie! The new Wii that Santa brought loves it

nah, got rid of that, spent a fortune on a Sony a few years ago, DVD packed up and have just decorated the living room, can't face drilling holes in all the walls to fit the speakers!

Just be glad you didn't buy a Samsung they have a sweepstake on whether the screen will last 3 years.Small claims court here we come!

  9. Engineering at it's best, as ever Missy B)
  10. Refined the plan a little, with some assistance from Anyrail to get a quick sketchup of the platforms, signal box and a few trees Excuse the scaled up Skaledale platforms! and there will be an overbridge on the extreme right which will form the scenic break Still refining the point template to better match the Waverley kit template, I will scan the actual template in and then bring that into Templot to match up as best I can.
  11. True, slitting wheel on mini-drill is the order of the day (as with OO!)
  12. Once I'd took the decision that I wanted to handbuild all the track a Templot license was bought. Here's my first effort at a track plan I'm sure I can add more detail etc later, once the learning curve drops of the vertical Scalescenes signal box is about done, needs a chimney and lever frame adding etc Now, I must get up to Marcway for some more copperclad and code 124 bullhead rail
  13. ah, but my trackwork will be good enough for a mogul or two
  14. A while ago I bought, amongst other things, a couple of Waverley O gauge point kits from Ian Morton. Following a succesful test build of a Scalescenes Waiting Shelter blown up to O gauge a seed of an idea for my first layout in 7mm started to grow ... So, the premise is a preserved railway somewhere in GWR land (as the point kits are to GWR standards). A single track railway doubled at the station. Model half the station with the overbridge forming the scenic break at one end and a tunnel at the other. The waiting shelter could stand on one platform with a small station building on the other. Here's the shelter and here's the point - a left hand A4, my first ever soldered point and not too shabby even if I say so The wing rail on the straight route needs adjusting as it's a bit tight between the two ..... Finally here's the Pug sat on some track at last B)
  15. soldered stock rails and crossing V to a Waverley O gauge point kit last night :)

  16. just finished the laimate flooring (for now) - just got to clear up now.....

  17. has had enopugh of laminate flooring now ......

  18. woodwork looks good an robust there Chris, should transport well. As usual your inspiration is way ahead of mine, wich I had your vision B)
  19. oh oh! just downloaded a Scalescenes signal box in OO - how many sheets of A3 will that be when enlarged to O gauge? ......

    1. traction

      traction

Not as many as copying the individual components over to A4!

ah.but then I don't have to print out all the alternative bits and none of them will be on a join ;)

  20. Ho Ho, just had to restart my Scalescenes waiting shelter in O gauge, I'd enlarged it 175% then another 141% for A3, flippin quirky printer!

all better now - see the "O gauge" thread in the Scalescenes section :)

  21. is amazed to see that an O gauge Scalescenes waiting shelter is forming on his desk!

  22. Driving that little beauty at Wycrail is the reason I have a saved search on eBay myself for one of these
  23. Old Specled Hen in my Baby Deltic glass :)

  24. Nowt so funny as folk. One word of caution, make sure you wrap it really well and send it Special Delivery - you don't want him claiming his money back for "non delivery" or "Damaged" Having had a quick look at your sale Brian, looks like you had two snipe bids at the end of the auction and they REALLY wanted it. Makes you wonder what the max bid the winner actually put in
  25. Is that the same 8F who's brakes I examined at Wycrail?, nice loco anyway and smashing pic as always Chris, your tall weeds by the coal pile are still way better than my efforts
