Recovering from a very emotional night at Beaumont Leys, I wonder if we'll ever go 'ommering again? http://www.cradleyheathens.co/news.php?extend.1155

Testing kadees with two baby Sulzers on a 3' long inglenook shouldn't be this much fun!

Good luck. I hope it works, so you can consign those cancer sticks to the dustbin of history.
I'm not a smoker, but I knew some people who were - who were unable to stop before it was too late.
What they went through was nasty - towards the end, it was slow, painful, torture - I could see the agony in their every breath. I don't want anyone else to go there.
I'm sure quitting will be tough - but it's worth the effort. I wish you every success.

Daughters contact visit with her mother today was made all the more bearable for me thanks to a lucky find of MRJ206 in a nearby charity shop ;-)

Watching 'Exposure' on ITV, certainly explains the almost-comical-if-it-weren't-so-serious appalling standards of driving in east Birmingham.....

EM points built & now fettled, 1st 2 items of rolling stock regauged. Something wrong here, I'm actually doing some modelling!
-
Finished soldering up my pointwork & managed to only burn myself once - courtesy of a carelessly held cigarette!

Show me something that isn't! I was just struck by the irony though - 7 hours work spread over 3 days carried out by a card holding ham-fister, involving cutters, files, slitting discs, sharp metal edges, not to mention corrosive flux & a very hot iron being waved about, yet the only 'injury' sustained occurred during a 5 minute fag break!

Just soldered on my first stock rail in 30 years (should say this is only the 2nd bit of pointwork i've attempted). Taking 5 just now before fabricating the 1st of 2 frogs!

Finally acquired a copy of GWRJ 54 today to satisfy my curiosity re: the Worcester vinegar branch. Stunned to find its proximity to Padmore Street, a place i've visited on many occasion. Surprised so much can still be traced on Google maps, something tells me I may be waylaid for a couple of hours next time I'm in that city!

Has spent hours completing skills assessments on the NCS website to seek new job avenues. I now has a 23 page results pdf which mirrors my cv....

Came home today with a Hornby EMT 'brick', which doesn't exactly fit in with my cliched GWR stock. How did that happen??

Loving ITV's 'The Job Lot'. More realistic than any finescale layout!

has a strange compulsion to hum a tune from the Wifard of Oz.....
