  1. An up train was announced at Chippenham today with first class in the centre and at the rear. A pair of units turned up the right way round, so first class was at the front and in the centre. So if they have turned around the units, maybe they need to turn around the announcements. Geoff Endacott
  2. Long range weather forecast. Saturday - sunny intervals - 13 degrees. Sunday - sunny intervals - 14 degrees. That will do. Geoff Endacott
  3. Archaeological digs. I think that's where I stayed when I was a student. Geoff Endacott
  4. Herewith one exhibition plan: Trainwest 2018 Hall Plan.pdf And the index so you can tell which stand is which: 2018 Page 02.pdf -- Geoff Endacott
  5. At least the show is being talked about. After all, there's no such thing as bad publicity, unless you are an Australian cricketer. Geoff Endacott
  6. I don't understand all this rabbit and egg lark. Rabbits don't lay eggs. Geoff Endacott
  7. I think I've solved it. On Saturday the revised rail timetable sees trains arrive at Chippenham Station hourly from Bristol Temple Meads at xx.56. The rail replacement bus arrives hourly from Reading at xx.58. Our shuttle bus times have been revised accordingly so that an hourly service for Trainwest will leave Chippenham Station at xx.10. In the afternoon trains for Bristol leave at xx.10 with the replacement buses for Reading leaving just before that at xx.07. Our shuttle bus has therefore been timed to arrive back at Chippenham Station at xx.00 to connect with these services. There are no trains to and from Chippenham on Sunday so we will not be running a shuttle bus. Visitors wishing to use public transport on Sunday are advised to use the X31 bus service to and from Corsham. I hope that will work. I you want to make a comment about the difficulty getting to the show by rail, please talk to the people on Stand 48*. Geoff Endacott * The Network Rail information stand.
  8. Realistic then. The D6300s were noisy. Geoff Endacott
  9. There seems to be a slight problem with our plan for a shuttle bus to and from Chippenham Station on the Sunday. No trains. Thanks Network Rail. There is a replacement bus service from Bath Spa, which will involve people travelling along the A4 to Chippenham, almost past the door of the exhibition, before arriving at Chippenham Station. They would then have to catch our shuttle bus back to Corsham I think I need to come up with a different plan. Geoff Endacott
  10. I have a plan. On Saturday, Trainwest will stay open until 7.30pm CST*. Geoff Endacott * Corsham Standard Time. CST = GMT + 3 hours.
  11. Free food and drink. That stand must have been popular. Geoff Endacott
  12. Three weeks to go before we start to pack up. Geoff Endacott
  13. The layout didn't make it into the Calne Show, but it will be at Trainwest 2018 on 14 & 15 April. Geoff Endacott
  14. That rather depends on where you start. As the previews seem to be popular I have added another three. Geoff Endacott
  15. Six more previews added above. That's now 12 of the 20 layouts featured. Geoff Endacott
  16. I have no problem with paying interest provided that it is being paid to me. Geoff Endacott
  17. I have now added three more layout preview videos. YouTube is very useful. Geoff Endacott
  18. Four weeks to go and the forecast is snow. Fortunately that's for this weekend, but somehow I doubt that mid-April will see temperatures in the low twenties as we did last year. Geoff Endacott
  19. Bentley MRG Clubroom Open Day. Sunday 18 March 11am - 4pm. Unit 15 Harris Road, Calne, Wilts., SN11 9PT. Free admission. Come along to see the sort of clubroom you can buy for £100,000. -- Geoff Endacott
  20. Accident 20.51 on 8 May. Normal working resumed 00.01 on 10 May. Somehow I don't think it would be sorted out so quickly these days. Geoff Endacott
  21. I can sympathise with the car parking problems. Trainwest moved from Chippenham after the overflow car park became a housing estate. It then moved from Melksham when the car park became a factory. Now we are in Corsham there are not yet any plans to build on the car park, but with the local authority charging us £400 to use what is essentially a field, they are doing very nicely as it is. Geoff Endacott
  22. Five weeks from now we ought to have most of the show set up. I hope it isn't going to snow. Geoff Endacott
  23. So football is a first class sport and rugby is a standard class one. Which end is which on the other three named pairs? Geoff Endacott
