  1. What they need in Bristol are surfaces to which paint will not stick! Geoff Endacott
  2. Relief lines. Isn't that what they were called before the introduction of retention toilets? Geoff Endacott
  3. Realistic then. Geoff Endacott
  4. Wrong bird. That's Falcon. Geoff Endacott
  5. Have a lot at this picture: http://dieselimagegallery.com/detail/53-Class-22;22;D6318;Rail-Blue;RB;Full-yellow-ends;Bristol-Bath-Road;Bristol-Temple-Meads;Bristol;D1057;Western-Chieftain;Western;2441968;1968;Jim-Binnie;0704;D6318-1-S.html On the left is D6318 in standard rail blue. On the right is D1057 Western Chieftain in blue with small yellow panels. Spot the difference. The photo was taken in 1968 - one year before the people who still believe in chromatic blue think that Apollo 11 didn't land on the moon. Geoff Endacott
  6. Mr Skidmore is a well-known local authority on technical matters. https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-news/purdown-bt-tower-bristol-ufo-6701 Geoff Endacott
  7. There is no substitute for working from photographs of your chosen prototype. Geoff Endacott
  8. The kick plates below the doors should not be silver. Geoff Endacott
  9. That's another one which will need to be repainted. Wrong size logos. Numbers too low. (Probably due to the model having the driver's name holder which shouldn't be there.) Why are the kick plates below the cab doors silver? Is it too much to ask for these things to be right? Geoff Endacott
  10. I am now genuinely puzzled. If everyone involved with the GWML electrification and the introduction of the Class 800s cares so much, what has gone wrong? Geoff Endacott
  11. I did not say that none of you care. It is the manager responsible who doesn't seem to care. Somebody must be in charge of the announcements and that's the person who needs to ensure they are correct. I have every sympathy with the staff at the sharp end. It can't be much fun working on the platform when the announcements and displays say a train is marshalled one way and it turns up the wrong way round. It must be particularly frustrating when it happens over and over again, day after day after day. Of course you and your fellow drivers care, but do the managers who give you such short notice of a shift change care enough about you? Geoff Endacott
  12. I suspect that's one of the odd reporting codes which turns up from time to time on Open Train Times. Geoff Endacott
  13. This is a useful resource: http://shedbashuk.blogspot.com/search?q=BLAZEY It show D2129 on shed at St Blazey on 15 April 1962. Geoff Endacott
  14. It isn't done because they don't care. If they did someone would have sorted it by now. There is a lot to be said for having pride in a job and that's what seems to be lacking. Geoff Endacott
  15. They keep sending 800s to the south west on training runs to prepare for the 802s which they haven't yet got. Geoff Endacott
  16. The wires are heading west from Wootton Bassett. Both tracks at Little Somerford on the South Wales line and one track at Christian Malford on the Bristol line now seem to be wired. However, there are still no masts through Chippenham Station - or any sign of them. Geoff Endacott
  17. Whichever one it is, isn't Sep 72 too early for a TOPS number? Geoff Endacott
  18. So it's got wonky stickers and a bent nose! Geoff Endacott
  19. The Bachmann model might be good for depicting 66048 or 66734. Geoff Endacott
  20. More than 1,000 comments and 60,000 views. It looks like they got something right. Geoff Endacott
  21. Why don't they bring back Battle Space? It could be brought up to date by branding it as the Donald Trump range. Geoff Endacott
  22. A penny short of £400 does seem to be an awful lot of money for a toy train with pictures of teddy bears on the side. Geoff Endacott
