From an earlier post I missed Johns question does the Solari work? Yes it does, the motor was seized solid so it and the 30 years of dust and pigeon debris from Victoria were removed. A set of Meccano gears and handle were fitted to turn the flaps.

Fingers crossed again for a Class 25/3......must be more chance this year as I’ve converted on from a 25/2 now. I can a 63ft DMU coming along. c117 would be good c119 better....3H even more so. New wagon, FFA/FGA container flats. New liveries on the 100ton tanks likely.

Only the powered car is DCC ready and has headlights but no tailights. The dummy car doesn’t have any pickups hence no head or tail lights.

The red spot says Hornby ambitious plans for 2020.

The RML has now had adverts and decals added and the detail picked out in appropriate colours. Once Christmas is out of the way I’ll get down to some proper work on the layout.

Whilst I’d be all for a better RM/RML Mike, I’d rather have some common 1960s 1970s and 80s cars....and some lorry cabs of a similar vintage. Decals and adverts have been added to the RML and everything given a coat of satin varnish. I’ll post some pictures once it’s properly dry and reassembled.

The RML conversion has progressed nicely. It’s now painted, loosely assembled and awaiting detailing, adverts, logos etc.

Good luck with that.....train planning is a bit of a dark art. Even with all the computer systems we used to find the odd error crept through. Usually one unit being used twice or a train being formed of a non existent inbound service. It got to the stage where they used to supply a weekend list of E&OE! -
Yes I agree Grahame. There isn’t even any glazing for the rear window on the lower deck.

Certainly towards the end the Exec livery were mostly B4. As always check against photos.

The RML has had a squirt of red paint...... Wheels have been fitted to the chassis and the front wheels have had a bit of turn built into them. The glazing will be the next thing to be cut to fit. I now need to find the Mabex LT logos and my spare adverts.

The body components are now glued together and a first fitting. A bit of filler required and then to the paint shop.......probably in April when the weather is better!
-
The Genetic experiments with RMs continue..... the RML is now in its main component parts. I’ll leave the glue to set for 24 hours before filling any gaps etc. Like Dr Frankenstein there always the bits left over..........
-
The four main body parts have had an overnight bath in Nitromors. I’ll get them cleaned up today and after making sure everything fits glue the front and back halves to each other......pictures to follow.

I don’t have a piercing saw so had to make do with the Dremel. If I do another conversion I’ll probably get one. The four body parts have had an overnight bath in Nitromors. Final clean up and glue together today.

I’d second the more modern bus. Less than 60000 Ranchos built between 1977-85.
