  1. It certainly looks the part, I need to order a milk float anyway so I think a Commer will be coming my way. Need to research some liveries.
  2. The Class 68s for TPE having been running up and down between York and Scarborough for some weeks now on driver training. Monday saw a full push pull set on test between Manchester and Scarborough. Here is 68024 and Mk5 set at the foot crossing just up the road from our house.
  3. The hobby room is largely finished, just coving and sockets to be fitted. It’s being utilised as a furniture store to clear the lounge for the plasterers. The kitchen diner is nearly finished, I’m decorating it prior to second fix and the kitchen being delivered. As a result no progress on Kensington Olympia. It’s still in the Mother in laws garage.
  4. Looks like I’ll have to get some more SKs! thanks for all the info everyone.
  5. They look rather nice. Looks like a useful selection of 1970s cars there. Shame the scale is unlikely to be close for 1/148.
  6. There used to be several SAGA Holidays trains running around in the 1970's and 80's the one I'm interested in is the Newcastle to Eastbourne working that also ran on other days of the week to Torquay, Margate, Portsmouth and Newquay. Does anyone have a stock book showing the formation of the train. The only photo I have shows BG, 4 x SK or TSO, CK, BSK, CK, 4x SK or TSO. I know it ran via Derby then presumably via Birmingham and the Thames Valley. I have it marked via Olympia for some years but I have a feeling it also ran via Guildford. The return working from Eastbourne must have used a different set of coaches as it departed only an hour or so after the inwards service left Newcastle. TIA Andy
  7. Excellent, they will need resizing, can’t remember how small I made it to print. Whilst standard posters seem easy to find on the Interweb the poster hoardings seem very difficult especially for the 1970s and 80s.
  8. I think I still have the sheets of scanned posters on my PC which I reduced for Kensington Olympia if you’d like them. Includes London network maps too if I remember correctly. https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/75679-kensington-olympia-in-n-scale/&do=findComment&comment=1547081
  9. Looks like publication has been put back a month to April.
  10. Cheap first 6 months for me then 100 ton tanks, blue / grey Mk1 FK second issue.....first have been sold out for years, and then the Mk2Fs in December.....which probably means early 2020!
  11. My copy arrived today, not had chance to open it yet.
  12. Mine are enroute from Carlisle too. I see they are WR numbered.
  13. Great stuff, thanks everyone. Nailed in 30 mins.....
  14. Can anyone identify the wagon type behind 85024 at Lancaster. They look like these but seem to have a middle weld seam that doesn't appear on these wagons. https://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/alcanpca thanks in advance.
  15. Prime position for photos, bit of a pain when the breakdown crane or the Eastbourne parcels were berthed there! The telephone exchange was in the room next door, facing the station.
  16. No updates in over a month, the building work is taking over. We are now fully watertight, roof, windows and Veluxs all fitted. This week the heating system is being laid in the kitchen / diner, lounge and layout room........floor down next! I've acquired my wife's old phone as she has got a new one. Didn't fancy the floral hard case she had for hers!....... so I ordered a new one via Photobox......... Its 33022 in 1979 leaving Brighton with the 1500 departure to Manchester Piccadilly, taken by me from the station switchboard which was in the Combined Engineering Depot. Photo was taken in poor light conditions so looks a bit grainy. I'm rather pleased with it...might think about making these and others available for sale.
  17. The Motorail branding was on the end of the coaches below the C1 restriction markings. Interesting that they have put B1 bogies on the coach as I haven’t seen a Motorail one that hasn’t got B4’s or Commonwealths. I’ll be getting some for the Olympia fleet. Another Blue Domino class 47 is good, as is the sound fitted class 101.
  18. N gauge DEMU would be great....as long as they do a three car. As I’ve built a class 25/3 from the current Farish class 25/1 this year the6 are bound to announce a class 25/3 for delivery in 2025! A 4 Wheel Ferry van would be good, but I expect the Freightliner flats will get the shrink ray.
