I was waiting for the sound fitted version too, so ordered online late Sunday night after seeing the posts on here about them. Arrived today from Bachmann and I think it’s very good value for a sound fitted loco in the nice presentation box. Thanks Mark

Hi, We did do a few Northern Spirit 156’s last year so it is possible to do one like that in the future. The only issue is until the next batch get produced there isn’t enough models available. We do have a few of the Provincial and Barbie livery units in stock thanks to Charlie for sending them up but they won’t hang around for long judging by the interest last week. As for the 158’s they have been extremely popular in Scotrail and Northern bubbles liveries. Every batch we’ve done have sold out within a few hours and we will do more as stock becomes available. Thanks Mark

Hi everyone, I just thought I’d share the Twitter link to DB who have one of the Bachmann DB Backbone class 90’s to give away. Would be great if someone from RMweb won. Your chance to win a class 90 in DB Cargo - #BackboneOfTheEconomy Follow the twitter link for further info https://twitter.com/DBCargoUK/status/1387364769695469571?s=20 Thanks Mark

Nice photo. Im not sure yet, will depend what I can pick up at a reasonable price. The Bachmann 2F stock is very nice but the Hornby ones are very good value. Thanks Mark

Hi Jools, The Delner on a Bachmann 57 is made up of several bits. With the Bodyshell off the main housing slides in to the cut out on the main bodyshell. The black plastic coupling part has a small plastic tab and is glued into the chassis so a flat blade/screwdriver will allow this to be prized out easy enough. I’ve not altered mine yet but it’s something I will probably do along with the 3 coaches used on the Windermere workings. The WCRC 57 was on my wish list for a long time so I was very pleased to see it released too. Hope that helps Mark

Cavalex Models All new RTR BBA wagon in 4mm scale
MRDBLUE17 replied to Grimleygrid's topic in Cavalex
Hello everyone, Colin, Mike and myself at Rainbow Railways are absolutely delighted to be able to stock Cavalex Models with the General release BBA’s and BLA’s now available on our website to preorder. No payment is necessary until they come into stock and VAT is deducted for international orders. They are already proving popular. If you missed out on the first batch I will have one of my own models from the first batch on display when we open our new shop in Linlithgow next week. For details of our shop opening and to order please visit our website: https://rainbowrailways.co.uk/new-products/ Thanks Mark -
The detail shown in the photos in the Bachmann Times looks very good. I think the VEA’s are a great addition to the range of air braked vans produced by Bachmann and would be nice to see the VCA in time to complete them. Ideally for creating the MOD trains of the era. thanks Mark

JSA, by Accurascale
MRDBLUE17 replied to Accurascale Fran's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
Hello everyone, I would agree with what Roy says, as a kid in the 80’s when all we had were plastic moulded wagons and chunky parts compared to the fine separate parts and amazing detail offered today I certainly wouldn’t want to go back. We should all be happy and appreciate the amount of effort being put in by the manufactures today pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved. I accept that this will inevitably create a few loose bits after they have travelled thousands of miles and then more likely the final journey where the odd issue arises. The bit I don’t get is why come on a forum and moan when politely contacting the retailer or manufacture will get your issue resolved. I know Fran, Patrick and Stephen are great friendly guys who are always happy to help and we’ve all seen how often they post on here, late at night and weekends to keep everyone happy which is way above what anyone would expect. As a birthday treat I’ve added a pair of VTG silver hoods for a mixed steel train and the number of seperate details is very well done. keep up the good work guys. thanks Mark- 316 replies

Hello everyone, Thanks to Mick for the heads up of the new listed stock I picked up DRS 66433 from Hattons. Ordered in the afternoon and arrived lunchtime the next day. Well packed and prompt delivery as usual from Hattons. The description highlighted it had a couple of glue marks on the roof which are not very bad but the loco is very smooth and quiet straight from the box so for £109 is an absolute bargain. Ive now bought two locos at full price and this is my second pre-owned discounted model. Both discounted models purchased have, apart from the faults/damage listed, been better runners straight from the box so well worth keeping an eye out for. If you don’t mind a little bit of modelling these minor things can easily be rectified. thanks Mark

I really enjoy seeing Jerry’s locos on here too, they look fantastic. His RES one a while back was my favourite. cheers Mark

Hi Kat, I personally want to see 90037 in it’s faded EWS livery with DB stickers to go with my plain ex DRS blue 90034. (I managed to get that one through). It all comes down to what’s a bit different like the Glider/Malcolm livery and now the Backbone. We had a lot of requests for Greater Anglia and have done 2 different ones so far. The Freightliner Over the Rainbow has been popular as well. I’m convinced Bachmann will do a DB red release at some point and we are working on etched nameplates in the hope they do appear. Let us know what you’d like to see as we just might do them in the future. thanks Mark

Great video Kat and very timely showing 90039 in Backbone livery. We have been working away on these and have just been given permission to launch them today at Rainbow Railways 90039 resprayed and artwork printed directly. https://rainbowrailways.co.uk/new-products/ Hope you like it thanks Mark

Good news about the retool to correct the length. I hadn’t ordered any of the first batch only as it’s the more current ASF bogie variants I was after to convert to Ospreys. I will keep an eye for when these are available to order. thanks Mark

JSA, by Accurascale
MRDBLUE17 replied to Accurascale Fran's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
Hi everyone, Thanks to Fran & Stephen for allowing Rainbow Railways to join the list of Accurascale stockists. We already have the excellent range of buffer stops in stock but the JSA’s are our first rolling stock to arrive. These are yet another excellent set of wagons and we don’t think they will stay in stock for long. All the best Mark -
Hi Steve, Colin at Rainbow Railways has done etched nameplates for all the 68’s so take a look there. If you call I’m sure he can sort you out with the numbers you need as well. hope that helps Mark

HYA/IIA, BY Accurascale in OO/4mm scale!
MRDBLUE17 replied to Accurascale Fran's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
Hi Fran, Just read the email with this update. I think it looks excellent in the photos and certainly captures the prototype well. I was interested to see how the weld lines would look on a model but I think you’ve achieved a realistic appearance and they look perfect to be able to weather up to suit. I’ve gone for a nice mix to form a 20 wagon rake after watching several YouTube videos at Carlisle for the time frame I want to model and these are certainly going to be impressive. All the best Mark -
Hello, I wasn’t planning on getting a TPE 68 as it’s past my planned cut off but having seen the MK5’s I checked with Crafty Hobbies to see if they had any. As soon as they came in John let me know and I phoned Shelagh to pay on Monday and it arrived Tuesday. Fantastic service as usual and my postie did well given the 6-8 inches of snow he had to trudge through. Cheers Mark

Mark 5, By Accurascale
MRDBLUE17 replied to Accurascale Fran's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
After seeing the model TPE sets looking very good and having seen photos of test runs up to Carlisle of the real thing getting a set has become too tempting. Despite technically being too modern for what was going to be my cut off period I’ve a class 68 on its way from Crafty Hobbies in Barrow so an order for a set of coaches is going in to go with it. The MK5’s look like another fabulous model and once that 73/9 gets confirmed I’ll be up for a sleeper set for Rannoch. All the best Mark -
That’s a splendid line up Jerry. I must admit I’d like a RES one at some. Great work as always cheers Mark
