  1. Hi everyone, After getting the Grey & Orange set for Newlands, I couldn’t resist the BS Blue set as well as it’s such a stunning livery. At least I can stick a 66 on those. They capture the bulk of the real thing well and really look the part so well done to all at Accurascale. A couple of shots on my mini layout project Morecambe. All the best Mark
  2. That looks fantastic Andy - thanks for sharing such a sharp image. I saw them at Glasgow in the cabinets and was very impressed. What with these and the WCRC 57/3 I’m certainly a very happy Bachmann customer. cheers Mark
  3. Hi Fran, Whenever you want to announce the loco I mentioned down the virtual pub last Friday night is totally fine with me . Will you be joining us this week? All the best Mark
  4. Hi everyone, Whilst searching for trains to run on Rannoch I discovered the IWA’s had run up the West Highland Line for a period in 1988. LL 37’s on the Mossend to Corpach speedlink workings. I even found a shot of two passing at Crianlarich. As far as I can tell it looks like they were used for paper mill traffic. Given how popular the line is I thought this might be interesting to others and with the order deadline at the end of December a nice excuse for a Christmas treat! cheers Mark
  5. Hi Charlie, Nice to see Leeds - Morecambe as the destinations chosen on one of the Northern white bubbles livery. That will be just right for my mini Morecambe project that’s well underway. Thanks Mark
  6. Hi Rob, I got a Samaritan for one of the Warwells as I found a few photos with them on and seeing I could get the transfers made my mind up that it was doable. (Just need to get them finished) Quite agree about the land rovers - plenty of the flats and OCA’s loaded with them would look really good. I’ll have to add an extra couple of Warflats to my order to add them on. cheers Mark
  7. Hi everyone, I didn’t know much about the military vehicles that were suitable or what was available for loading but following a chat with a few members of DEMU a couple of ranges were suggested and ended up ordering from S and S. Thought I’d better get organised for when the Warflats arrive to go with a couple of Warwells. The S and S models work well for me as they go together quickly and have enough detail with the white metal parts that make them ideal for train loads. I also found Kingfisher miniatures have a good range of transfers suitable for them too. Cheers Mark
  8. Hi Ben, Will look forward to watching shortly. Seeing the samples and latest email has reminded me I forgot to order some vans when I ordered the timber variants so will get some ordered later All the best Mark
  9. Hi, As Gordon has already replied no the destinations don’t change. Strange coincidence I got the 156 for my 10th Birthday, it was a good model back then but you’ll certainly enjoy the new model. Have you seen the Hattons reductions on them at the moment? Hope that helps cheers Mark
  10. Hi Alex/Cav, Have to say these look like another fabulous wagon. The underframe detail and the pipe work under the end covers looks so sharp. It’s just a shame these don’t run where I model but I’ve still ordered one to slot in the Wool sand train based on a photo I found in amongst a rake of HIA’s. I hope it’s another success for you. all the best Mark
  11. Hi G-Boaf, Just my opinion of course but the 156 is an excellent model, with so much added detail you will not be disappointed. I’ve got 4 and they are all nice smooth runners with superb lighting functions. If you like sound and can stretch your budget Bifs sounds with numerous destinations etc add a lot of play value. Bachmanns 158 is a nice model too but the 156 has a lot more separate detail parts, especially in the underframe area. Hope that helps? thanks Mark
  12. Hi everyone, Thanks to spotting some really nice 7mm items on RMweb, I took a look at Model Railway Scenes website and found several items for detailing I was after in 4mm. Even better a £5 discount code popped up whilst browsing off a £20 order. My order arrived today very well packed in a slim box and an added pack of grit bins which I can certainly find a use for too. I’m very impressed with the quality, sharpness and detail. There was also a nice thank you email from Pete as well. Very impressed and will be keeping an eye out for future products being added to the range. thanks Mark
  13. Thanks Fran & Stephen for keeping everyone informed. I don’t mind when they turn up as we know they are going to be great models from the photos and videos shared so far. The main thing right now is that everyone working to pack and send then is working safely and staying healthy during these difficult times. Thanks Mark
  14. Hi everyone, I was originally going to order a pair of Freightliner 86’s and renumber one of them. The GM collection editions however have added a welcome livery choice so 86622 in powerhaul will join the standard release and as GM supply to the trade means my local model shop can order both in for me. Plenty of time to sell some excess to fund them between now and release and by supporting a smaller shop I’ll get the retailer discounts off RRP so it’s a bit of win win all round. Cheers Mark
  15. Hi Fran, Great to see the class 92 in action, superb detail and the motors for the pans with the brass worm look robust and much quieter than what we’ve seen so far on the market. They will be well worth the wait and thanks to Stephen for such a quick response as I will be sure to get both with sound. All the best Mark
  16. Hi Alex/ Cav, Good news there will be a second run of these and EWS livery will be very welcome. cheers Mark
  17. Great photo, thanks for sharing. I saw this loco once in that livery and quite by chance on the Hamworthy goods branch. I agree would make for a good model. cheers Mark
  18. Hi everyone, Just wanted to post my thanks to Steve for my recent order. He had emailed me yesterday to confirm the custom part for a steam loco renumbering was not a problem and he was working on it. My entire order arrived this morning which is fantastic service, especially as I had asked for an extra detail to be added which has been created superbly. Many thanks Mark
  19. Hello everyone, A box from Hattons arrived today following despatch yesterday with my third class 66. It’s 66743 in Royal Scotsman Digital fitted from the pre-owned section. I had spotted this last week but noted damage in the photos not mentioned on the listing so used the message service. Have to say usual excellent service from Hattons, looked into these with the pre-owned team who not only confirmed the issues present but amended the price to reflect these before sending me the new link to it. With that I had no hesitation in buying and out the box and on test it runs far better than the other two did. Although I saw the real loco on the Scotsman looking immaculate last year, it’s worked plenty of freight so will get a bit of weathering and used on that. At some of the prices offered the pre-owned are certainly worth a look. Cheers Mark
  20. I’m delighted to see 33008 in this condition as I saw it on the Hamworthy goods back in 1992 on a charter set with a pair 37’s at the other end. A second WCRC 33 will be getting ordered as well. More great choices Ben. Thanks Mark

    Class 88/93

Hi, I spoke to Andy about the possibility of a Dapol 88 at showcase a few years back as with my interest in the DRS fleet I would certainly get a couple. Plenty of running on Diesel along the Cumbrian Coast although most of the loads are not very taxing. But I do get the difficult position for a company working out if a small fleet like this would cover its costs and turn a profit. It’s probably one that would break even as it does seem popular enough but could they make more doing something different probably gets factored in. Hopefully one day we will see it produced thanks Mark
  22. Hi Andy, Good news you’ve taken delivery of the box could you imagine if you just had to use an empty box - there’s nothing in it for me comments would take on a whole new meaning! Little Diamonds - the small Crewe based nuclear traffic 31’s had little diamonds on the side. Cheers Mark
  23. Thanks as always to Andy for producing these updates on here so we can all see what is coming out. I had a feeling this year we would see a WCRC 57 so I’m delighted to finally see that above. cheers Mark
