  1. Hi Keefer, That was one thing that caught both Andy and I out the first time we tried representing this period. I am familiary with all the history, the dates, the succession periods already. Now need to try and get the right class/unit type and any numbers that can be confirmed as correct. As others have said. DMU's - Cl101, Cl122, Cl116 and still working on the DMU's and liveries carried EMU's are easy compared to the DMU's! Cl303 and Cl311now working on the liveries carried. Thanks Phil H
  2. Hi Alex, Yes - Backwaterscotland - Andy is one of my friends. I will be speaking with him at St Andrews Exhibition - this weekend! Thanks Phil H
  3. Hi Legend, I got the dates I have from other sources and, having checked with NMS and the SRO, they are the correct dates from inception of Greater Glasgow Transportation to it's demise and being absorbed into the New Strathclyde PTA. Photos are very hard to find though! Thanks Phil H
  4. Hi all, One of the things I am currently working on needs more information about this. Most specifically - EMU and DMU types and numbers known to have carried the GG logo of Greater Glasgow. This would only be relevant to the period when the logo was in use. Dates would be from 1973 to 1975 but some carried the logos a bit longer than this and only lost them when repainted into the new Strathlyde livery. Anyone know more and can help? Thanks Phil H
  5. Hi Graeme, Thanks for confirming position - much appreciated. I'll try to be at Falkirk 1st Sept but will certainly be at Ayr Exhibitions with the NGS in Scotland stand. Thanks Phil H
  6. Hi Carly, I was going to be at Margate, but now it's not possible. Is there any other way to get the goodies as I've already signed and sealed the subscription offer - indeed = my first issue has arrived today. Thanks Phil H
  7. Hi Andy, Once they start to break up - that's it. You could try a coat of Klear though, wait for it to dry, then you would have to cut the decals out to the print line and apply to the model using Klear to keep them in place. I've tried this - before the decals covered were introduced by another maker, but it's a lot of messing about. Accept the loss and move on! Thanks Phil H
  8. Hi Robert, as per pm... I've had stuff delivered from them this week and an email advising the order was on the way. So - they do respond and they do send emails. Try 01237 423 453 Thaks Phil H ps - I notice there is a comment on the website saying that the Contact Us section is not working properly and to send direct email to them.
  9. Hi Polybear, Thanks for the name - I could not think what the stuff was called but you have reminded me. The product is still available from specialist roofing supply companies. I will be ordering some shortly to go on my new shed as the stuff supplied with it is the cheapest possible type of roofing felt. Thanks Phil H
  10. Hi Mike, Sounds like you need to give it a coat of bitumastic to seal the roof before putting felt on it. This should be done with hot stuff but that can cause problems itself. So - local DIY Shed to see what they have as bitumastic sealer. If you can - put the felt on whilst the bitumastic is still sticky as this wll make it an even better sealant. Thanks Phil H
  11. Hi Ken, You are correct - Original Klear does thicken with age. I've tried water and I've tried acrylic thinners and I've tried Windolene. All work to a certain extent but Windolene seems to give the best results. From memory I mixed it at 2 parts Klear to 1 part Windolene. Phil H
  12. Hi Ian, That's the old Triang/Hornby VIX van - or I think that's what you mean! Like this one:- https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwi13onBqs7jAhXaD2MBHbp8A2oQjRx6BAgBEAU&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fp%2FTriang-Hornby-R741-TRANSFESA-Ferry-Van-Wagon%2F1945040330&psig=AOvVaw1vufZUUc-KmD_xmmnOXny-&ust=1564084326160137 It's a real livery on the wrong wagon type. More info on here already. Thanks Phil H
  13. Hi Richard, Thanks for the photo - it does help show the roof shape and make it easier to understand how it could be modelled. I'm playing around with the shapes with the idea of putting it through my cutter to see if it is viable to make it that way. More after I play with the shapes and settings, won't be tomorrow as I am at hospital most of the day and anticipate being to tired once I get home to do much. Thanks Phil H
  14. Hi there, Yes - I was aware of this working but finding photos is like looking for a needle in a haystack. I've seen a photo somewhere but have not been able to find it again. It shows the vans in one of the sidings that used to run between the main lines and the back of the brewery nr Slateford. Thanks Phil H
  15. Hi all. The nearest model - in HO at least - to those that came into the UK is this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rivarossi-2076-2-x-Freight-Car-Interfrigo-Der-FS-New-Original-Packaging/273904696610?epid=830084573&hash=item3fc5fdfd22:g:cAQAAOSwxwRatUgJ Thanks Phil H
  16. Hi Grahame, This is the same van that I am looking to model. Lots of general photos of them but only a few of them in Scotland. Peter Tandy's book on Standard wagon also has an outline drawing and a photo. Somewhere else on here are photos showing them in Scotland on trials. Thanks Phil H
  17. until

Great little show - always has quality layouts to see. This year sees East Neuk MRC showing it's new N Gauge layout - St Andrews for the first time. Some photos attached from Arran Thanks

  21. Hi Carly, Thanks for trying this. Unsure why this happens. Last time I had to get my account deleted then set it up again before it would work. Phil H
  22. Hi all, Once again the website will not let me pay and comes up with https://www.world-of-railways.co.uk/information/service-unavailable?aspxerrorpath=/checkout/your-details As the last subscription I had was back in 2012 I fail to understand why this happens. Thanks Phil H
