  1. New skill acquired today...changing fiddly VW headlamp bulbs. So much for the scare stories online of removing bumpers and not getting the bulbs to fit properly. Less than fifteen minutes to do both sides, including sussing the locking mechanism

Should be illegal to sell a car if the bulbs cannot be changed easily.

  2. Off to fetch Stuarts Lane in a bit. Still not sure where I'm going to keep it...

      Steadfast

Turns out it was both! Tork and Purkey rolls were rather yummy :-D

  13. Remember, the internet isn't TOPS. F8 doesn't page down. Page Down does page down. I do like TOPS 2000 though. Got CTT release off to a tee now :-D

Hi Steadfast, cant make out why I got an alert on your update but I like it, don't understand all of it but I like it just the same.

  14. Researching the next project...bogie frames. That's one less thing that's common across the class 59 fleet! Minefield springs to mind,

    1. St. Simon

      St. Simon

No, I think the springs aren't all that different :)

  15. Rods_of_Revolution and I had a great unplanned RMweb meetup at the Strode Inn at Cranmore today with Lyneux, Red Death and Grahame. Hope you enjoyed the trip back guys! It was a cracking day out

  17. Shattered from a long day out with Rods_of_Revolution. Went to Banbury to photograph the Chiltern loco hauled stuff. Not been sat on a train at 07.25 before... :-o

  18. Smacked the top of my knee on the top step of a 66 again last night! I'm sure I'm not the only one who's done it! Flipping hurts!

      RedgateModels

Odd, I have no problems, but then I don't use rattle cans anymore :)

    4. Steadfast

      Steadfast

14ml tinlets for me. I just can't get a consistent finish without a really thick coat and then half of it peels off under Tamiya masking tape. Contrast that with the Railmatch I've just sprayed on a DB 60, perfect finish, easy to apply.

  20. So that's what Skyfall is...

  21. So they want to change the law to allow MI5 and MI6 to drive above the posted speed limits? I thought they already could. That's just about every Bond film ruined for me now. Dear Sir/Madam, I think you'll find it's most inappropriate to raise one's hopes of seeing a real spy having a car chase at high speed through London. I am most disappointed and have had my childhood memories ruined. Disgusted of wild Wiltshire. Yeah right.... :-D

  22. So who knew Ricketty Cricket wasn't actually called Cricket :-o

  23. Some say...we've thught of a new way of introducing him. But we haven't, it's the Stig!

    1. 69843

      69843

Some say...they're running low on new ideas for his introduction

    2. DJM Dave

      DJM Dave

Some say they are running out of ideas for a motoring show except to show fast cars and nothing else.

    3. andyram

      andyram

@DapolDave: I think you misunderstand Top Gear. It is more an entertainment motoring show these days which is why they show the fast cars and challenges instead of cars for the everyday punter.

  24. The problem with Swindon, is that I'm from Chippenham :-p
