  2. Brilliant items! Look forward to the NCB and BR departmental versions. BR departmental will go well with the Bachmann crane
  3. Great to see many fellow Spenny lads on here. We should have a reunion at the start of next month at Spennymoor Show. Wonder if I can persuade Oxford to attend in place of DJ Models with the J27.
  4. Great exhibition well done the organisers. Excellent trade support which is always the way towards a successful event.
  5. I would add to the mix that some heritage railways do not know how to look after and engage volunteers. Some loose interest very quickly if there is limited progress or something that does not challenge someone personally. I know one railway that the path to becoming a driver starts with a minimum of 50 days on a crossing as they cannot get anyone to cover the role. As a company director managing specifically millennials, it is always a challenge. Our older generation of volunteers are probably not best placed to manage our younger generation. Engagement, quick success and need for instant gratification is something that needs to be understood that makes a lot of youngsters tick. Take the previous statement on 50 turns as a crossing keeper, that will not wash with a younger volunteer. Around a job it could take years to take a step up. Image also never helps. Bloody Roy Cropper!!
  6. Great show. See everyone October! We will be back with a brand new O gauge layout
  7. Durham Locomotive Preservation Group are also attending with our society stall. Our group members are also exhibiting Etherley Moor in OO gauge. i believe there are over 30 traders in total.
  8. Horrific news, as the organiser of Spennymoor my worst nightmare realised. So sorry for all the exhibitors, traders and to hear Johns story. 20 years of kit building just disregarded by pure scum. Irreplaceable items. I just hope the courts hand down a hefty sentence and the parents really need to be made to pay. My 15 year old is not out on the streets at 4am!!
  9. Free admission with charges for train rides A wide range of layouts from 009 - 0 gauge with demonstrations, artist in residence, stalls and much more. Steam train rides from 10:30 to 16:00 Well stocked shop selling a wide range of modelling items, rolling stock and locomotives Buffet car open each day for light refreshments, toasties, bacon and sausage baps. Please come along and support the show, many thanks
  10. Just Thought I would get a thread going as I have not seen anything on here. https://perthgreenmrc.org/exhibition.html
  11. Hopefully another mid sized tank Locomotive an A5
  12. I have to agree with the comments about retooled chassis for the J39 and do we need one. I think the desire is from most for something new and exciting. I have 3 J39’s. A pain to convert to DCC but not impossible. I would prefer a few J27’s or J21’s now. I have to agree with the comments about retooled chassis for the J39 and do we need one. 13. NCB Ryhope colliery, brilliant announcement. I was about to moan nothing for me again. I will take one of those!
  14. Hopefully O gauge for my new garden railway
  15. Time we had an updated D49, The Goathland would be Brilliant
  16. Their website does not seem to exist.
  17. I still think the A5 with its wide geographical spread would be a great model. The J27 is rumoured to have been scanned and always polls well. The black 5 was scanned recently on the NYMR according to the MPD Facebook page so we might be about to get an upgrade.
  18. An A5 has a large geographic spread. Sure it will sell well.
  19. Well, now for 2019!! Provisional dates are 2nd & 3rd November for 2019. Traders are booked and a number of excellent layouts are already lined up. Some brand new to the exhibition circuit. For those on Facebook, please follow us for updates both on our model railway show and restoration progress. We also post new model railway items for sale via our website. A big thanks again for all your support in 2018!
  20. Many thanks to all those who have supported is again this year. Without the support of some great traders, some great railway modellers and of course the general public who support is very well every year. We would not be achieving so much as a preservation society. We still have a long way to go but with your support we will get there.
  21. Great first day. Well supported. Cafe was sold out shortly after lunchtime. DJ Models had some bargains available. Tigertaz has a big N gauge collection available from tomorrow. Hopefully see a few more folk from here tomorrow
  22. A little bit surprise snow this morning but we are all set. Bacon sandwiches are flowing, hope to see many of you over the weekend
