  10. No, personally no interest in the G5. A8 or N10 different matter on the tank locomotive front. I recon Hornby will do a G5 in the near future anyway. I know someone involved has spoken with them. But of course that's absolutely no guarantee they are interested in producing one.
  11. J27 or timely that funding for the J21 restoration has been successful. A J21 please

  15. Completely agree Steven. Give me a workhorse any day.
  16. Little while since the last update. We have just received our locomotives springs and two from our LMS brake van that have been away for refurbishment. Coming working parties will be to firstly refit the brake van for use at the NRM Shildon. Secondly to get the locomotive springs fitted. Recent work has included the fitting of the brake gear on the locomotive, cleaning and painting. We have fitted the handbrake to the cab floor, a replacement as the locomotives original was stolen along with a few other parts. All replaced but sadly a cost that slows the restoration down. Working parties continue on Friday and Saturday mornings. Please get in touch if you would like to get involved or assist at exhibitions as part of our fundraising. Also any exhibition managers with a bit of spare space for a society stand would be greatly appreciated, please get in touch.
  17. I thought I would get a bit of a thread going on a OO gauge layout myself and brother bought a couple of years back off Ebay. Whilst we generally build layouts from scratch and have a couple of O gauge layouts out and about stubbling across the layout on Ebay gave us the option to have something different to take out. We are actively involved in the restoration of an RSH locomotive 'Norwood' and the main reason we exihibit our layouts is in return for some trade space for the charity restoring the locomotive. The layout itself is atleast around 15 years old bought via Ebay from Harrogate Model Railway club, surplus to requirements. Very simple in design with twin track, end to end running into storage sidings. 16ft of scenery, no turnouts. The trackwork originally code 100. The layout did not come with storage sidings so we built something temporary to attend Newton Aycliffe and Shildon exhibitions. Over the last few weeks the track, ballast was stripped and we have set about giving it a bit of a face lift. The old Code 100 has made way for Marcways code 75. and we plan to build it into a loop in the future to give better options in terms on running longer trains. Included a couple of pictures. Will keep you informed of progress. We have a few bookings already for the revised layout at Shildon, Tanfield Railway and the Stainmore Railway Exhibition followed by Spennymoor in October.
