  1. You asked for it! I'm posting pics that were used in the magazine now but I guess not everyone has bought/seen the article. The 'thumping' has died down as the 3H rolls into the platform from Portsmouth while scruffy McDuff 47706 arranges todays china clay train.
  2. Thanks Rich the sky is definitely added otherwise it would be the mess in my garage behind!🤣 Forgot to add it’s all Mr Nevard’s work, I wouldn’t have a clue how to do it.
  3. Evening all Here's another, let me know when you're bored/had enough! 😉 A splash of colour on the clays, 33035 positions the first wagon in the washing shed with blue cloud filled sky above.
  4. Evening all Back on the laptop tonight and as the pics seem to be gaining lots of 'likes' I thought I'd post another one! 😉 A general overview of the original layout where the roadbridge was the scenic break. After the arrival of the London train 47187 starts its MoD train that has run-round and now heads to the vehicle depot at Ludgershall. (In my world the sidings at Ludgershall can only be accessed from this direction.😉)
  5. When Mr Nevard sent the edited pictures used for the article and those that weren't, he also included Black & White versions of many of them. At the time that the layout is set most pics in the magazines were in B&W so in some ways I prefer them and what I remember. B&W version of the thumper picture posted previously but the detail just seems to 'pop' more without the colour, especially the brambles on the embankment I think.
  6. Hello all Had the laptop on again this afternoon so thought I'd add another of the Nevard masterpieces. Eastleigh raises the noise level to draw forward and position the second tank of its train under the loader overseen by 'Clive the clayman' on the gantry.
  7. Me again! Ben and Gerry discuss who's turn it is to make a brew while 73132 rests on the fuel road.
  8. Evening all Here's another one of the unused batch. The Hampshire unit slows as it arrives from Portsmouth through the layout extension.
  9. Hi Pete Had a read of the article this afternoon and very good it is, and some nice pics. Did you catch Tidworth in ModelRail?
  10. Having run round in the station and drawing forward 'Burma Star' prepares to set this week's fertilser delivery back into the siding for unloading, while behind the MoD shunter arranges wagons in the exchange sidings.
  11. Hi all Just sitting waiting for kick-off and was looking at the pics that Chris Nevard took of Tidworth for the magazine article and the ones that weren't used and thought I d post some here for the record.😉 The only pic of a Class 50 he took and it didn't make the cut! 🙄 50046 Ajax in charge of the 4TC arrives as 37068 Grainflow eases an MoD service out of the sidings.
  12. Nice one Ray will be good to see you, Leave early on Friday and stop for lunch here mate to break the journey up.
  13. Hi Iain i wondered when the footage might appear, most of the bloopers edited out I see.😉 Good to see you and you’d be most welcome again fella.
  14. Hi Paul Yes. I just bent the wheel end of the wire into a small loop to increase surface area that's all.
  15. HI Pete My two 08s are the Bachmann versions that have the daft pickup arrangement at the top of 4 of the wheels. All the dirt and crud makes its way to the top and builds up under the pickup until it stops making contact. 🙄 My solution pictured below. This mod makes them run faultlessly with basic Bachmann chip hardwired in after removing the circuit board and their mounting pips behind the radiator, with no need for stay alives. They pickup from all 6 wheels now!
  16. Video footage of the layout on Saturday courtesy of Iain (BA14eagle). Tidworth from about 17.14.
  17. Morning all Bit late but thank you to the Newbury club for their hospitality on Saturday and the opportunity to play trains again. Also, thanks to the 'team' Rhys, Paul, Chris and Mike the teaboy for their help and company for the day. Tidworth is all packed away in the garage again and not due out until February for the Tonbridge show.
  18. Tidworth all loaded up in the Mondeo for a 7am departure once PaulRhb arrives. Hope to see some RMwebbers tomorrow and please say hello if you visit. Nite nite.
  19. Tonbridge in February Basingstoke in March Brokenhurst in May
  20. Thanks Bill but Saturday's visit to Newbury is as close to Worcestershire we'll get for the foreseeable future! Three shows in the first half of next year but all further South.
  21. Thanks Adrian I'm pretty pleased with the article, especially the pics. If ever you're down this way let me know as you'd be welcome to visit to 'play' with Tidworth and the shed layout.
  22. Hi Adrian Good to see you're back look forward to progress. I too have reloaded my pics to the threads over the last week.
  23. Evening all So today is the day! Didn't make the cover but a nice pic across the contents page! Huge thanks and compliments to Chris Nevard and the fantastic pictures he took, he definitely got the layout's 'best side' !😂 One thing to note Tidworth WILL NOT BE AT WARLEY!! I'm not sure where they got that idea from, must have got wires crossed when I was talking about the Newbury Ex. If you bring your copy of the mag on Saturday I'll be doing signings at lunchtime! 🤣🤣🤣
