  1. Absolutely and I have a large thirst, and I qualified as a GOB years ago, just ask my ex-wife!
  2. Sorry not this time Andy as I'll be in the Lake District for the week with another Birthday on Wednesday!
  3. I've had an email saying they've processed my order for two today, credit card is screaming!
  4. Evening Andy Good to see you today I expect there'll be a MidHants diesel gala video incoming? I don't know about the sausage roll but he bought me a beer! See you again tomorrow in your shorts and sun hat!
  5. Looks much better mate will look superb once its all done.
  6. Looks good so far Nigel, keep at it the ballasting brings it all to life. I quite enjoyed doing it over the he Christmas period!
  7. Hi Adrian yes things are progressing slowly but it’s nice to be able to just run trains again. It was quite a while before I made a start in the shed which had been ready for some months as I pondered on where to go. Finally decided to scrap the old loft layout and start again from scratch and glad I did now! I’ll keep the 50s coming for you!
  8. Thanks all for taking the time to comment as it’s nice to get some feedback, although I realise most of you have been clicking the ‘like’ button, it just feels like an empty room sometimes.
  9. Cheers Nigel and you’re still welcome to visit just let me know when your free! Mainly though thanks for your response, the first person to actually post something after four updates from me, just not interesting enough I guess.
  10. Morning all Finally got the next YT upload done at work this morning (took about 5 mins) after it being uploaded at home overnight and not being successful! It is just another selection of trains on the layout from various viewpoints where you can see the differences since the last video in February.
  11. Paul is correct, with the insulation and lining the temperatures in the shed are more temperate, certainly compared to the loft my original Exford layout was housed in! Now in the shed when its hot you can open the door and windows for ventilation, and when its cold a fan heater warms it up relatively quickly and the insulation keeps the heat in for longer. I also enjoy the headroom! The double glazed windows and security door, plus the shed being part of the house alarm system, gives me peace of mind when away from home.
  12. Evening all Back again for a little update as things stagger forward. Back to May 29th and the card foundation has been added to the embankment along the. platform. The bridge beams primed and the footbridge was also primed when all the stone cladding sheet was done. This afternoon the walling has been treated to several passes of paints of varying shades as a base before final fitting. Also some hanging basket liner I had kicking about has been glued to the embankment and up to the curve area as a base for more scenic works. Having also clad the bridge in the same sheeting this was also treated to paint in the same way. The footbridge now also sports a coat of suede coat paint for the concrete effect. There we go then small steps but worth documenting I thought, but it must be time for another running session and video soon.
  13. Morning Kevin Glad you’re pleased with it but to be fair the painting, skirting and carpet is down to you!
  14. Evening all Two weeks have passed so a little update. Last week some Celotex was acquired from Kevin's shed and it was positioned along the back of the platform and up to the existing Dawlishy bit. You can see the trains will disappear into darkness and off-scene. The reason for the darkness, the MDF 'blackhole' constructed one evening. View through the station showing the built up embankment along the back that will gain a stone retaining wall in due course. Looking the other way the embankment up to the start of the curve. The same view tonight after the application of a coat of Sculptamould. The coated embankment at the station. So not much but another small step in the right direction.
  15. Only because you’ve been hiding behind the sofa until Boris said you can go out! You know you’re welcome to visit!
  16. Looks good Nigel, not having any platform ends after all?
  17. Morning Pete if your using your iPhone to video I was put onto iMovie by Nigel (Melangoose). It’s an App and allows you to put lots of clips in one project and then edit out all the dodgy bits and then send to YT. It’s what I used for the Exford Videos.
  18. Evening all Hadn't realised its been a couple of months or more since I posted, but probably because not an awful lot has happened in the way of progress. Other things have been taking up time including a two day trip out on the trains which included a ride to Banbury behind a 68 followed by an overnight on the sleeper to Penzance and couple of branch lines the following morning! Also spent a weekend erecting a shed in Kevin's garden to be the new home of his next 'Leaford'. However I have been fiddling with things in an odd hour now and then. The platforms have been built up and surfaced using cardboard behind the Peco edging that's been in place for a while The carcass of the overbridge to be has been constructed and a footbridge purchased on ebay has been modified using the second kit included in the sale. It will be repainted and further detailed as things progress. This afternoon the platforms were given a first coat of paint on the cardboard and filler surfaces, again more will be done. A couple of Wills vari-girder kits were used to construct beams for the overbridge. Viewed from a lower angle you can see the 'I' beam added below the vari-girders to make it more substantial, and the reasonably good hiding of the exit through the scenic break. There will also be a support on the inner platform to support the centre of the bridge and also further mask the exit. The 'free' end of the footbridge will meet a low relief station building of some sort mounted on top of stone retaining walls. There we go then, modest progress but going the right way.
  19. Tidworth is going look like a bus queue at this rate!
