Morning all Just a post to retrieve the thread from the hidden depths of RMweb and announce that Tidworth is due to appear at an exhibition THIS year! Obviously this is subject to all things being okay at the time but things look hopeful currently. Tolworth Showtrain 2021 Tolworth Recreation Centre, Fullers Way North, Tolworth, Surrey, KT6 7LQ. Saturday 14th November 10.00am - 5.30pm Sunday 15th November 10.00am - 5.00pm However, this means I need to get the layout up for the first time since Taunton 2019 and finish off the extension completely in time!

There are currently some green ended Warflats in the sidings at Ludgershall.

Unless its been changed since I bought two Bachmann 08s, the pickups are on the top of the wheel tread of the two outer wheelsets and not the middle one. Any crud the wheels pick up rises to the top of the wheel where it builds up under the pickup wiper and eventually breaks or causes intermittent connection. This was my solution! Both now pickup from all 6 wheels with the pickups contacting the wheel backs not the treads. A quick wheel clean periodically and they run like a dream and I don't bother powering frogs and all that stuff! A quick wheel clean is a lot easier than a strip down to get at the pickups!

Evening all Spent some time this weekend mixing up paints to try to get a Dawlishy colour for the cliffs and after several false starts I've ended up with something I'm happy with as a base for further colouring later. Well at least its not white anymore! 'Kennaway' tunnel where you can see the pathway to be going up the hill. Looking the other way at the curve. Whilst I'm sure some will look at the colour and tell me its all wrong, it is a rough match for the soil I have from the area that I used on the earlier loft version of the layout. This is the base and obviously the vast majority of it will be covered with greenery, but the exposed remains will be further coloured as things progress. October 2009 and the base colour in the loft, this was Terracotta emulsion leftover from a decorating job but fairly close match! And this is how it ended up looking!

Hi Matt Shed is 16x10 bought with intention of just housing the original loft layout. If the worst happens you can access the helix by diving underneath and sitting in the middle of it, and there is very little hidden track that can’t be accessed somehow.
