  3. Yes, I have been there a few times as I have been a Warden at Talbot House twice (long haul from Oz but worth it)
  4. Peter, Looking good. I fitted an Iphone speaker to the Class 25 chip and sound is terrific See you tomorrow arvo Peter
  5. My grandfather William Beckett was at No 10 CCS at Remy Siding from the 1st October 1917 until the 10th October 1917 when he was transported by Ambulance Train to Le Treport on the French coast hence my interest in your model. If I did No 10 CCs it would be very simple compared to yours Cheers Peter
  6. Peter, If he has a Loksound V4 then ESU do a Brit. I am not sure if its any good but its free so good for a trial Peter
  7. Jeff, There are a few of us going by train BTW Welcome home! Peter
  8. Thanks All, Its the R8249 with a blue spot on the chip and has a purple lead connected to the decoder but not the plug.(Purple Lead removed but there is a blank connection on the decoder) Cheers Peter
  9. Hi, I have "inherited" a small Hornby non-sound decoder and having trouble identifying it using JMRI CV8 = 48 (Hornby) CV7 = 131 (????) Any ideas, please? Peter
  10. I always use Kapton tape because of its outstanding properties Peter
  11. Hi Brian, That did the trick. It must be an early Flying Scotsman decoder as all the cv's and function keys match that TTS Decoder, Peter
  12. Brian, I am helping a friend tune his sound locos and he has a V2 2-6-0 that has a chip retro fitted. I wonder if in the listings you can help me identify the decoder? CV8 = 48 which tells me its a Hornby decoder, however CV7 = 9 Cheers Peter
  13. LNER 2-8-2 P2 Class R3246TTS cv7 = 1 cv8 = 48 cv158 = 0 (this cv not listed in manual) cv159 = 133 As per Hornby Manual also read using JMRI Peter
  14. Hi Rick, Nice to see you in action again. Looking at the layout I think the next time I visit Blighty, I will pack the Garratt in. Cheers Peter
  15. Doug and Jeff, Have we a time and place for Sunday as I can't find a reference in the emails? Peter
  16. Doug, I had made payments overseas using Paypal after the 1st July and none of them had any added extra fees or costs. I have just checked Paypals PDS and this is what they say 12. Responsibility for taxes12.1 You are responsible for collecting, reporting and paying any taxes that may arise from your use of our Services. You agree to comply with applicable tax laws in connection with your use of our Services. 12.2 Unless otherwise expressly set out in this PDS, our fees are GST exempt. Peter
  17. Boris, Would you please pass on my thanks for the cleaned up webcam. The scene is so much clearer now that the "spots" are gone Peter in Oz
  18. Last night ordered some items on my wish list at Hattons and it was GST free. I also ordered a specialist book from The Book Depository in UK which now attracts GST. (THANK YOU AMAZON.) Peter
  19. I have been looking at the Hornby TTS manual and I will have to check my units tomorrow but I wonder if the default value for CV29 needs to be changed. This is what the manual says "Bit2 (Add 4 to activate) is used to control whether the decoder will operate on both DC and DCC layout control. By default both forms of power are enabled. It is recommended if only running on a DCC controlled layout to turn off DC operation, i.e. CV29 = 2 if only changing this feature of CV29." Peter
  20. I was wondering if anyone else is a user of the Digitrax system and has this problem. I have 2 x Class 31's, 1 x Class 40 and 2 x Class 9F's that occasionaly without any prompting suddenly start moving without any throttle commands. The Hornby TTS decoders are the only ones that have this behaviour and I run Digitrax and Loksound decoders as well and they dont have this problem. I dont run DC on the system. Looking forward to any suggestions Peter
  21. Peter, I have some so you can pick it up at the May meeting (My place) Peter
  22. In LMS Engine Sheds Vol 3, Rose Grove (23) was fitted out with pumps and tanks for 2 oil burning locos stationed at Wakefield. They worked between Crofton and Wyre Dock and many Rose Grove firemen were trained in their operation. The project was abandoned before a drop of oil could pass through the Rose Grove plant. The 2 locos are not identified. HTH Peter
