  1. Rob, yes a horse tram and single line with passing places. The electric trams came in 1899 and pressumably at the same time the much bigger level crossing as we knew it up to 1964 when the flyover was opened.
  2. An early view of Anlaby Road (Hull) crossing, looking to the town centre.
  3. The houses in the background are Ampleforth Grove etc on the estate, they are still there..
  4. It was an October 1964 RCTS tour, covered most of Hull and the Withernsea Branch.
  5. The actual location of this photo' is unknown, but certainly it portrays the look of several early Saxby & Farmer signalboxes as used in the Hull area.

  9. Further to Little Weighton picture. I have blown up the original grainy scan, not 100% clear but most likely 45328. Whatever, still an unusual engine for Little Weighton. Thanks, Mick.
  10. 45528 is an unusual engine for Little Weighton pick up, an early 1959 view.
  11. Here is the later signalling, with the coming of DMU's the engine release was removed and likewise the turntable.
  12. Hornsea, 1898, the signalling was later simplified, but the layout remained much the same until the end.
  13. Various Hornsea Bridge signalling layouts, may inspire a modelling project.
  14. An early OS Map of Hull Paragon and "Dog Kennel Lane" before the bridge was built.
