  1. Hi Kevin, I am sure you will come up with something. Going well here just came out of another lockdown so getting a bit over it. We were planning a visit last year, but covid put pay to that. Hopefully next year but who knows. Cheers Peter.
  2. It's been a while since my last update but I have finally well almost finished the weathering on 08733. Also I have been working on a class 20 with was going to be 20221 but to get it right would have meant alot of work sorting the orange cantrail line and enlarging the cab windows, 20221 also had its discs removed on overhaul which was something I really didn't want to do, so in the end I chose an easier option in 20059.
  3. Hi Ian, The layout is really looking good. I enjoyed the video too. Can't beat a nice bit of Crompton action. Cheers Peter.
  4. Congratulations on this one guys. I 'will be interested in a Large Logo one when they turn up. All the best Peter.
  5. Hi Kevin, The new shed looks great, plenty of room for a Leaford MK2 and room for Millway Dock above of below. Cheers Peter.
  6. Sorry my bad, just checked my loco hauled travel 1986. Shows loco change at Crewe. Cheers Peter.
  7. As mentioned the 07.09 was an out and back turn worked by a 47 and Trans - Pennine rake. Most of my stockis fitted with Kadee couplers my Bachmann MK1 sets have Kadee at each end with Bachmann short wagon couplers in between giving a nice close coupled look. I have just fitted some Hunt couplers which seen to work quite well. I have never seen an Inter - City MK1 in any Pompy - Bristol- Cardiff - Crewe service. Cheers Peter.
  8. Thanks Adrian, The orange curtains are painted paper just cut out and stuck behind the window. I did do some a while ago with Orange paper but couldn't find any. Cheers Peter.
  9. Thanks Neil still a few bits going on.
  10. They look great looks like you have done a bit more to yours but as you say they look pretty good for an older model. I remember seeing the Newcastle - Poole back in the day went out for it a few times hoping for a Peak north of Brum. Cheers Peter.
  11. Most services had set formations but I agree some sets would be made up of what was available. Trans - Pennine services were generally made up of 5 x MK2ab and c TSOs 1 x MK2 a or B FK and 1x MK1 NEA or NEX. depots providing the stock for these trains would have spares, but I have seen MK2 D air cons in Inter - city livery being used for replacing MK2 FKs. and sets often had MK1 SOs which were declassified FOs replacing MK2 TSOs. Most of the time the Trans- Pennine rakes were formed the same way TSO, TSO, TSO, TSO, TSO, FK, NEA. Cheers Peter.
  12. I was tempted to start replacing my Dapol models with the Bachmann MK2fs but it was going to cost a small fortune so I decided to stick with my Dapol ones they don't look too bad. I have been using Turpentine to thin my Humbrol paints. Cheers Peter.
  13. Thanks, I had trouble trying to find a decent pic so went with what I had, I don't think there were many FKs with the motorail branding though I did find a nice pic of one in inter city livery. Cheers Peter.
  14. My air con takes are the old Dapol model and I have do a declassified FO as you say there were a few about. Underframe is Weathered using Humbrol enamels matt black and two browns some times a bit of white added.bodysides are the same colours just thinned down and run into the doors and hinges. Cheers Peter.
  15. Hi Ian, my coach rakes are typical of what was running on the North Wales coast during the mid 80s. So I have plenty of TSO and SK stock in my rakes. Cheers Peter.
  16. Two coaches off the workbench today and one older model in for a new kadee. A Bachmann mk2 BFK used to strengthen a 3 coach set which I use on a Manchester Bangor and return. The MK1 FK with motorail branding will will be used in Cardiff/ Crewe to Bangor/Holyhead trains. I have see more than one picture of a Motorail branded coach being used on these trains so though I would do one. Last up an old Replica FO declassified to an SO fitted with flush glazing and used in my Trans Pennine rakes. Cheers Peter.
  17. Hi Lee, Going ok thanks though back in bloody Lockdown again. Thanks for the info I will have a go at removing the black I didn't fancy repainting the whole front end. Cheers Peter.
  18. Thanks Rod, love your layout by the way. I will have a look at that too. Though I am not sure I have the patience to start editing videos, ut next time I am running I will do some video and give it a go. Cheers Peter.
  19. Evening Ian, I have a Samsung but I am sure there will be something the same as imovie for us android users. I haven't run the layout for a while so it might be a good reason to clean the tracks and have a running session. Cheers Peter.
  20. Hi Lee, some superb stuff on here. Can i ask if you repaint the yellow on the Heljan 37/4s I noticed yours don'thave the black around the markerlights on the headcode box. Cheers Peter.
  21. I am glad Llanbourne has given you some inspiration for your own project. The you tube clips are something I need to work on though it can be difficult running a train and videoing at the same time I need to workout how to edit a few clips together rather than one train at a time. Cheers Peter.
  22. Thanks Steven, The top link was one I hadn't seen before but the others have been useful for information over the years. Cheers Peter.
  23. I will look out for that book. The bottom 45 and 47 turns are SO jobs and I hardly run the Saturday timetable due to lack of freight. The 37 turn didn't exist during.my time period but there was one by 89. The freight only book has some useful freight times so will give you some idea on ballast workings etc. Cheers Peter.
  24. I have been writing a timetable for llanbourne for years. I keep changing things about so it hasn't made it a past scribbles in an old book. I have a loco roster too with each diagram written on a white board. Each time I run to a timetable I write in the loco numbers for each diagram ie diagram 45101 worked by 45150 etc. I am not sure if mentioned before but two books I find very useful are pictured below. Cheers Peter.
  25. I think most of the 33/2s were seen on the coast. I only have the one, my 33/1 does see use now and then I always liked them. Cheers Peter.
