  1. Hi Andy, I have always liked your backscenes but these latest ones with the road going off in the distance are superb. Well done mate. Cheers Peter.
  2. Gave the Peak a bit of a run today.
  3. 25059 works back to Warrington on the daily Speedlink. I really need to sort the ride hight on the PCAs the old lima one are a bit high. Cheers Peter.
  4. I am trying to remember what I did, I think i removed plastic from the gear tower. I read about it on this forum somewhere so you should be able to search for it. I can't remember if I mentioned it on my thread it was a while ago that I did one. Cheers Peter.
  5. I will follow your progress, normally takes me longer than a month to get a loco sorted though. Cheers Peter.
  6. So I have temporarily set the layout up in the spare room so I could do some work on it. After setting up the two scenic boards I worked out I could just about fit the traverser up. So I have been playing trains just making sure it all works. The air did turn blue when the wife went in to get something. She only thought I was setting up two boards.
  7. Hi Peter, Hows it going. 40122 was a repaint for railtours during the mid 80s. Cheers Peter.
  8. While on the subject of class 40s here is D200 on the summer dated llanbourne to Stoke service.
  9. Agree about the slanty lines but otherwise that looks hellfire. I want to see one in triple grey with petroleum decals now.
  10. Hi Jeff, They didn't have ETH so would more than likely been painted in railfreight grey livery. Either way it would have benn good to see them last a bit longer. Cheers Peter.
  11. Those Shawplan window etches certainly make a difference. The 37 looks good too, I lowered mine to sit better on the bogies, might be worth a look. Cheers Peter.
  12. I was living down South so didn't get to see many class 40s but did see a few of the 97s and D200 which I did get on a railtour. Seeing one always left a memory for me as it wasn't an everyday sight.
  13. Now you have me thinking, and class 25s and 40s running until the 90s how cool would that have been. I might have got to see a few more.
  14. My lima/ Bachmann 97407 trundles past the carriage sidings on an engineers train.
  15. The retooled class 4o is certainly the better model. I missed out on the blue ones when they came out and the price of them is a bit over the top now so I was happy when my mate did this one for me. My 97407 is a Lima body on a Bachmann chassis, not as good as the latest Bachmann but with some detail work they look pretty good. Cheers Peter.
  16. I have often though about how some overhead would look on Llanbourne. It would mean removing the Semaphores but still tempting.
  17. 47455 gets a test run on some recently finished VDA Vans. 37428 is about to propel out of the carriage sidings with what will be a Cardiff service. Another shot with 37428 in the station. During 1989 a shortage of Sprinters saw 37/4s used on a service to Rhyl. I have imagined the service ran a few years earlier and extended to llanbourne.
  18. Did these wagons ever run out to Bangor in the mid 80s. Cheers Peter.
  19. So some good old fashioned modelling then plenty of cut and shut. Should be good when it's done best of luck. Will it fit on the Heljan chassis ok? Cheers Peter.
  20. Whats the plan Ian, change the cabs on the Heljan and do a compete MM1 model? One in triple grey? Cheers Peter.
  21. Hi Andy, I am enjoying the new layout build its looking great. the Locos parked up by the station certainly has that Eastleigh vibe. I don't mind the Colas livery and really quite like the class 70s they sound quite good and just look powerful. Cheers Peter.
  22. Good too see the layout up and running again. The timetable running certainly adds to the interest. Which brings me to a couple of questions. I thought the van trains went to Crewe or redbank not Bletchley.I think he Humber oil train was petroleum coke carried in hopper wagons. my freight book says loaded to Holyhead. Cheers Peter.
  23. Let me know if you ever decide to go the MM1 route I might be interested in the body if you want to sell it. Cheers Peter.
  24. Hi John, I think the class 20 is the worst re taking the body off my 37 25 and 45 were all ok. Cheers Peter.
