  1. Another early morning train is the Red bank to Holyhead postal service being hauled by 31403.
  2. That's a slippery slope your heading down there Paul.😁😁
  3. I haven't see one in person but agree the pics of the newer molding don't look to bad.
  4. Thanks Steven, the actual base is carpet underlay teased out and stuck down in clumps with PVA the green is woodland scenic fiber that again is teased out to form bushes than flock is added to the top. Other bushes are foam clumps and the trees are seafoam. Cheers Peter.
  5. I think if I was going to keep it as 37430 I would be very tempted renumbering to 427 would meN some work so doing one already started makes more sense.
  6. Totally agree, both Bachmann and Heljan have them as separate parts and they just look too chunky. Cheers Peter.
  7. All the talk of the new Bachmann class 37/4 made me put my 37428 on the layout and have a think about do I need to get the newer one. I have another 37417 in the cupboard which I am planning to do as 37427 it will need a bit if work but I think I will stick with my plan of doing that rather than selling it on and buying the newer one. I think with a bit of work the older 37 looks pretty good.
  8. Thanks Tony, I have a few more pics to post up from my running sessions recently so drop by any time. Cheers Peter.
  9. Thanks Neil. I do have a few more pics to load. Just pics from running trains as I have been going through my timetable. Cheers Peter.
  10. I was thinking of getting one with orange cant rail line but this is too low only by a tad 45118 is the same. They should also have a black bonnet. Hopefully the production runs are ok. Cheers Peter.
  11. I thought while the track was fairly clean and the layout was working well I would run a few trains using the timetable. One of the first trains of the day that can be seen in daylight is the 1M82 from Cardiff. This train consists of a couple of vans and two MK1s providing some passenger accommodation. The train is booked for a class 47/4 but can produce a 37/4 or class 33. As can be seen in the pics 25059 had turned up due to a loco failure near Crewe. A van is removed and one added to form the return working to Cardiff.
  12. Hi Ian, nice set of pics the ballast colours and greenery look really good. Nothing like an up coming meeting to get you fired up. Cheers Peter.
  13. 20121& 20169 leave llanbourne and head down the branch. 33010 Heads for Crewe. 25224 shunts the fuel tanks.
  14. Nice couple of pics Jeff.
  15. My two Bachmann 25s are still finding plenty of work on llanbourne. 25904 is stabled while 25109 runs LE to Bangor. 31319 arrives on an empty ballast train from Carnforth.
  16. Thanks Ian, I had 21 peoples turn up luckily the weather was ok and both layouts ran well. I was good to catch up and see the lads and Exford not sure I can make it for the next meet 🤣🤣 it would have been nice if I could have stayed an extra few weeks but it was hard enough going back to work after 3. Trip home was OK just long. Cheers Peter.
  17. Its Holmes road in the 7mm section.
  18. 08472 has been dumped in the yard as it playing up again. 08695 has shunt relased the train from stoke and the 20s have dropped back onto the front. 45103 arrives on a train from York.
  19. Hi Jeff, glad you enjoyed the day. Some nice pics too. I didn't take any on the day but took a few Sunday when I went out to run some trains. First up 20121 and 169 work a train from Stoke. These two are Lima models 169 is a dummy and 20121 runs on a Bachmann chassis. Next pic shows some recently weathered VEAs and a recent purchase of a cavalex PFB. Last pic shows 25912 coming into the yard where it will drop off the BDAs for unloading.
  20. I had a train meeting at my place on Saturday and the weather was going to be fine so I took the chance to put up the layout. He are a few pics. Still plenty to do but lt ran OK.
  21. I can't actually find my loco hauled book at the moment, but good to know my memory is still OK. The Stoke train that ran during the week did a trip down the branch before going back to stoke. This train had D200 on it a number of times too. Back too the Padd- llandudno serive I found a pic on Flickr with no heat 47017 reversing out of llandudno with ECS. But no reason why you couldn't have a class 50. I have one in bits which when done might get some use. 50s did for a short to time work an early morning pass / van train from Cardiff to Crewe and back on my timetable this runs to llanbourne with a class 33, 37, or 47. The thought is s 50 could turn up now and then.
  22. Hi there, looks like you are making good progress with the timetable. I noticed you mentioned the Padd - llandudno working. My 1986 loco hauled book tells me it was a Saturdays only working and air braked though that could be wrong. I did make up a set of MK2s for my working of this train with some branded with NSE markings. I guess it could be MK1s if vac braked but I have never seen a pic of the train.
  23. Thanks mate hopefully I will be over for longer next time so will catch up then.
  24. Oh shite no looking forwards to that. Great to meet you though mate. Cheers Peter.
