My 86404 arrived today and very pleased with it I am. Like some I wondered how the heck to release the pantograph. I worked it out as on the attached picture. There is a little rocking plate with a lip on it, this is a catch, i hooked my fingernail on the lip and gently pressed and this released the pan. I then just gently pushed it down until it locked into it again. Hope thats of use.

These slates look great. However i would have no idea what size would look best on my scratchbuilt buildings. Is it possible to either do a small sample pack containing each size or to do a download to print off a sample size so you can assess the exact size to see which is best before placing an order? Hello everyone, Apologies if ive missed this in my reread of the topic, but does anyone know if there is a kit available for a proper working metal APT pantograph. Ive a 7 car on order and I want my pantograph to work with the overhead wiring. Thats work as in touch the wires not provide power :-) For such a premium model I dont know why Hornby keeps opting for plastic pantograph's eg 87, although crude the original one from the model 30 or 40 years ago was at least metal. Thank you to anyone that can give me hope of a fix for this. Garry

Hi, Could someone help me please. Which versions of the HAA would have been running in the late 70s to 80s. Would it have been the railfreight red version on this batch or the original version on the following batch. I remember living in a house when I was younger adjecent to the wcml and you could feel the floor vibrating from them.
