That's good - it's the heavy witches that cause problems.

Does this help, Ian?

They once tried to sell me £20 worth of Insurance - on a £12 kettle. Another time they told me lies about I must supply my email address for the TV licensing people - on a set top box. At other times they chat among themselves and ignore waiting customers. They are pathetically runners up in the worst customer service stakes for inadequates. We use them to look at products before buying elsewhere now.

It didn't work very well - the house is still standing.

The 'energy saving' light bulbs have all been replaced by LEDs here. Much brighter for less money. Those whirly twirly things look like the illumination one gets from an oil lamp.

The last time we had this sort of trouble, it was caused by a live neutral feed from the supply. Blew out half the appliances in the village. Yours sounds more prosaic but it needs sorting.

Sounds like you are in good hands, Tony. Get well soon!

I was surprised to see six Jowetts (an owners' club) on show there. Not seen many at all in the last few years.

Just as an aside: When I built the sunroom, I made an opening window. This worked very well, except for the ingress of various insects. As a temporary measure, I used a piece of white net curtain over the opening. It worked and is still there after about five years looking like the day I put it up. Seems almost to be self cleaning too.

I have a copious quantity of 'care workers' blue gloves to use for such purposes. I use them for Instant Glue but they work well with Volterol. Not that I put Instant glue on my back.

Maybe we should start a "Bad Back" thread. Since an accident involving a wheelbarrow full of wet concrete (I hit a brick with it) some years ago my back is liable to go into spasm given the chance. It's particularly bad at the moment after spreading two tons of granite chippings onto a new bit of garden here. Short of not being active and buying a motorised wheelchair, the pain is kept at bay with handfuls of enteric aspirin until it passes off. Once I'm on my feet I can cope but sitting down and getting up produces yelps. SWMBO kindly made a hot water bottle for me yesterday. Now I have a slight scald where she failed to tighten the stopper. But ... tomorrow is another day. Any tips from fellow sufferers would be welcomed. I've tried some gunk called 'Volterol' without any faith (if one can rub ointment in, why doesn't the blood leak out?) and I imagined it does some temporary good. So far the best thing seems to be inertia and cursing.

I had a Fulvia for a short period years ago. Looked and sounded quite nice. Wasn't sorry to see it go!

Must have been on a branch line. (Yes, I know - leaf it out)

Brilliant! Cuteness personified.

Do we have to leave them tips?
