Went to a Model Railway Show today and eventually arrived at 4pm due to the signage being misleading and/or absent. "That will be £10", said a fellow on the door. He was wrong.

Puzzling news on TV from Gatwick. Apparently, if a flight leaves within one hour of the stated time, it is deemed "by the Industry Standard" to be on time. Gatwick say that their average delay is 12 minutes (ie 72 minutes late for those of us hard of understanding). Fortunately I more often use Manchester where, apart from the Motorways, the biggest obstacle is the sheer misery of the experience.

Tend to agree about the 'charitable' sales pitches. Take a look at the salary of the CEO and, with some, look at where their Head Office is situated. Not to say that most don't do good works. The cynic in me wonders why the film crew didn't step in to stop all those children drinking dirty water. The folk on here have proved their generosity in the past and I'm sure it will continue without emotional blackmail.

I agree with this in general. Locally I have had good experience for several years from a branch of ATS (I'm not a shareholder). It has paid dividends for them in that it is my first port of call for any problems which arise. They are not always the cheapest but I usually get a discount and willing staff to help with whatever it is. I first went to them when the Volvo main dealer tried to rip me off to the tune of £600+ on an MOT. Unfortunately for them, a senior bloke from the MOT enforcers was sitting next to me in the waiting area.

I try not to be on Facebook so I'm not always up to date. However, I understand Debs and co. are still having difficulties and I'm sending her some flowers.

Whatever the reasons, what used to be an entertaining part of a trip by aircraft is now just a very boring and arduous part of any journey. I detest it.
