Hi Robin,
Yes I was thinking down the same lines (pardon the pun) it would be worth buying just for the amount of ply sleepers I will be needing.
All the best, Martyn.

Hi Robin,
Interesting thread you have going here, that guillotine you have there certainly looks like it takes the hard work out of sleeper cutting. It looks old , or is it still available ?
Regards, Martyn.

Hi Richard,
It's nice to be spoilt for choice when it comes to 7mm trackwork, I didn't realise Len had both plastic and brass fishplates to offer.
Regards, Martyn.

Hi Richard,
Excellent work as usual, just the one question if you don't mind. The fishplates I see you have used both metal and plastic is this to aid insulating track sections ? Or are they just decorative as you are using droppers.
All the best, Martyn.

Cor, with all that blackening I bet the room smelt of rotten eggs !!!!

Hi Stu,
My jaw nearly hit the ground when you said the price of the Peco wagon, I model in 7mm and did not realise they had got that expensive then I realised also that I brought mine about 20 years ago:icon_e_surprised: gosh where does the time go. I think I paid ??24 for mine at the time, still I'm sure you will enjoy the build.
Regards, Martyn.

Truly inspirational, this layout should be motivation enough for the rest of us to get building .
All the best, Martyn.

Hi 28xx,
Regarding the glazing I will try and explain what seems to work OK for me, cut the glazing just over size ( I take it you are using clear plastic ) then put a small blob of Blutak on what will be the outside of the window in the middle. Then push a cocktail stick into the blutak and then give what glazing is left on show a good coating of Johnsons Kleer, then use the cocktail stick to manoeuvre the glazing. Slip the plate through the front opening and then pull back gently once in position and it should leave the glazing in place. If the blutak decides to stay on the glass , no worry wait until dry then peel it off. I hope I have made myself understood, I have just finished an 8f with this method without a problem. If your still not sure I will try and workout how to put some photos up to show how easy it is.
Regards, Martyn.

That is one stunning loco, I also like to give them the weathered look of the late 50's so this build of yours is right up my street.

Nothing like modelers licence, love the sight glasses

Hi Phil,
Keykits from Dorset do a range of milled rods, and if you can't see your chosen loco on her website Kay will usually make some up for you at the same price.

Probably a silly question but do your locos have stainless steel wheels and do you have to be careful that the moisture does not get into the mechanism ?
