  1. is cleaning loco wheels ready for members day this Saturday.

  2. Looks horrible... the weather that is, the layout looks fantastic . Looking forward to seeing it on Saturday
  3. Excellent, the trains just sit in the landscape so well. (you must have spent a fare few hours at the lineside there over the years )
  4. Not being well versed in 16 tonner's, what is the 'r' shaped figure beneath the tare? never noticed it before on any wagon.
  5. Nice, but I hope you weren't trespassing for that second shot...
  6. It just gets better. I wouldn't worry about the incorrect length, it looks superb.
  7. until
Goathland Model Railway Show Presented by Whitby & District MRC At Goathland Village Hall YO22 5AL Saturday 23rd &Sunday 24th July 2011 10am to 4.30pm both days Entrance only 80p 6 layouts, trade, refreshments, tombola and free parking.
  8. I'm wondering if this is a bit of overkill for cutting out disks for boiler washout plugs... The punch (made by a French company called Mekano and is donkey's years old) is for making fibre etc. washers and two different sized cutters can be fitted at once, the cutter fitted is the smallest at 3mm (does up to 30mm). I just thought it would do this job OK and it has. The disks with holes drilled in them can be seen to the right.
  9. Very good, though I wouldn't call it beautiful, they certainly have character.
  10. Sounds good, have you got a track plan yet?
  11. Lovely work there Captain, Well, knowing a signalman and his love of his comfy chair, I think sitting in it would be entirely appropriate. Perhaps smoking his pipe? although the one I know doesn't smoke a pipe. Edit - looks like the sheep may be a job for the Goodies...
  12. has got his Mum hooked on the Fostoria OH webcam...

  13. As ever Ron, superb. (nearly 500 posts and no trains! not many threads could manage that.)
  14. Control panels for Felton Lane, basic plastic boxes from RS. The left one is for uncoupling magnets, rotary switch selects the required mag and the push button energises it, this one now has the track diagram drawn on it with the point letters and magnet numbers on it. The right panel is for the points and has the controller socket on it. Seen on the floor is the power supply unit, complete with red 'on' light and fuses. And the panels open. Amazingly neat for me!!
  15. Ah, now your mistake there was to say 'working' I never make that mistake...
  16. Brian, if this had been in a 'Wheeltappers' 'What is this?', I don't think anyone would have guessed correctly...
  17. has been clambering about on a steep hillside spraying weeds today and my feet are aching.

I'd rather say he may have intended to depict rusty scrapped plants, given the concentrate's appearance!

yes, don't want to use trade names but it's what collies do with sheep.

  18. The High Steel looks good, it doesn't take much to get it right does it. D77 coach is superb, glad the instructions were of use.
  19. If you can supply some .5mm (or less) OD copper tube to feed them I might just consider it.
  20. I'm currently building an Alexander Models J27 (yes another although not for me this time) and I decided to see if I could make the regulator handle move. I soldered a bit of brass wire to the handle that I bent up from a piece of fret, this was passed through a .5mm hole in the backhead and bent over, stops, made from Evergreen strip, were then superglued to the back. The wire rubs on the casting to keep the handle in position.
  21. has done all the jobs he had to do outside when it was drizzling, now the sun's come out...
