  1. There were others, you might be able to make out another one. They look like they've been there for ages.
  2. After a evening out in Rowley Regis last night, my friends commented on these hooks on the canopy at Rowley Regis station: To which they asked me what they were for, and I didn't have a clue. So I took a picture and said I would consult the Oracle that is RMWeb. Cheers for you help.
  3. Here's my take on Toddington: I do think operationally, a Junction station will give you a lot more though IMO.
  4. Please tell me i can swap the close couplings for traditional N gauge couplings as I have 140mm curves for them to go round.
  5. Similar spot but different loco. I really need to get out more :
  6. You can guess where I do a lot of my railway photography:
  7. Me and the boy at Hythe Station on the RHDR. Signal box in the background:
  8. Not very clear, but this was taken with Royal Scot coming down Erdington Bank (IMO the best photo I have ever taken of a loco):
  9. If the wild card is still valid: How about locos/stock named after types of weather?
  10. How about something like this: A small country junction might suit, so you have the bay platform for your auto train and DMU, two sidings with say a low relief dairy for milk traffic. It could be that the Mainline station is on the left hand exit of the layout, and then the branch is the bottom exit on the right.
  11. I understand you may not want that much platform length, but 2 coach length platforms are not that realistic. Highley, if my memory serves correctly can take 4 63ft Mark 1 coaches. So I would keep the platforms at a sensible length.
  12. Shouldn't it be called Tadcaster Brown now? Chips and Gravy I get, but not with cheese. As an established midlander it has to be Curry Sauce on the old chips, preferable Orange Battered Chips on a Cob!
  13. Another idea would be to move down the SVR to Bewdley. Here's my take on it, forgive the long pieces of flex, I ran out of track pieces on my free version of Anyrail:
  14. If you can stretch to 18 x 2. A little bit of play with Highley comes up with this:
  15. It's my pleasure. I enjoying playing around with trackplans. If you can squeeze 18' x 14" you could go for this: It's very loosely based on Highley. If you went for preservation era, there is room for a version of the Engine House too.
  16. For a convincing model railway. Have a look at this: I think a terminus would suit your requirements better. I have included a 3 road carriage shed, and a 2 road Engine Shed with Turntable. The station loop will allow for a 3 coach train. The bay platform could be used for an autotrain or DMU, or a goods shed. Slightly adapted for double track:
  17. This is just a suggestion. Assuming that your fiddle yards are not part of the 10ft x 2ft space. I have quickly come up with this plan: From other GWR layouts I have seen, good sheds can be located in the bay platform. There is also scope for a second platform on this plan. I've put a Metcalfe small factory in the one area, but you could make this a dairy to allow for milk traffic. Hope this helps.
  18. IIRC Smethwick Galton Bridge to Smethwick Rolfe Street is 33 chains.
  19. Heads up to anyone interested Bemo are now offering certain locos and stock in HO gauge: http://www.bemo-modellbahn.de/produkte/schweizer-bahnen-h0.html?tx_userbemocatalogue_rubriclist%5Bvehicle%5D=30&tx_userbemocatalogue_rubriclist%5Baction%5D=show&tx_userbemocatalogue_rubriclist%5Bcontroller%5D=Vehicle&cHash=7cc5cb7b40ce1ed7f73def2b9eff8e6d
  20. Wollaston's Blues are in training, I've got them off the booze, and thought's of the beach in Dubai.
  21. I'd be up for it. As a Birmingham City supporter, I know nothing about football though.
  22. The curve at Stourbridge Junction towards Birmingham is 15mph, and there's always plenty of flange squealing to be heard from my grandmothers. I always thought that was really sharp for a mainline.
  23. Recently, my good lady has treated me to some Craft cans from Asda 4 for £6. A couple were a bit too citrusy for me. But Purity Lawless, and Pistonhead Lager were superb. I have mentioned it earlier, if visiting the SVR/Kidderminster this summer, I can recommend a visit my local pub The Weavers Real Ale House on Comberton Hill which has just been awarded the CAMRA Worcestershire pub of the year. It now features beer from the Pig Iron Brewery, and the Round Oak Stout is one of the best stouts I have tried. (Usual disclaimer, just a happy regular).
  24. I do tend to vear towards electronic music, when I'm modelling or any other job around the house for that matter. Anything from the Pet shop Boys, to Calvin Harris, Pop to Hard House.
  25. Hi Paul, It's 3 APA style boxes together which give you approx 7ft x 1ft, I have a similar set up for my Swiss layout. I have removed the loco and car. But I have put all the car spots on now. I don't have room really for a permanent layout at home. So these are ideal for storing away, when not being built or played with.
