Right, after bit of thinking, it's time to break out the Plastic glue, tweezers, cutting board, and sniff the thinners.
The Plan:
The Scene:
Somewhere in the north of Scotland, a fishing boat is landing it's catch of Haddock, ready to be loaded into the waiting Blue Spot fish van. On the other siding a L & Y Class 21 simmers in the warm Scottish sunshine waiting for them to finish.
The Construction Plan:
I love building plastic kits, and have always fancied a go at the Dapol L&Y pug plastic kit, just as it is without the worry of motorising it. Model shop dependant will mean either a RtR Blue spot van or a Parkside Dundas kit. The boat is to come from a 3d Printer on ebay, with other accessories, and then (drum roll please) my first attempt at scratchbuilding a fishermans workshed with net loft. The track is going to be inset using DAS modelling clay.
I have some hardboard I can cut into the relevant size, and long with some polystryrene sheets for the height.
I know it's not the most imaginative trackplan, but I want to do something that allows me to look at small details, and also something that isn't going to cost me more than £50.
